Love the chevron design on there! Shari made the chevron background larger than the tabbed folder shape, adhered it, and then trimmed off the edges of the chevron background. Perfect placement of the chevron. Sweet!

It’s just ever-so happy and springy! Perfect to go along with the mood of the spring weather we are having here. (Sorry, if it’s snowing where you are. ;) Apparently it snowed in Utah this past weekend too though.)

Here’s what Laura has to say:

I wanted to whip up a few quick Valentine’s Day/Love themed cards, and thought it would be fun to include Kerri’s new feather shapes. I started by cutting a circle background piece for both cards. By cutting these pieces from a cream patterned paper, and adhering them to my white cardstock card base, it creates a very subtle background to build the rest of the card on. I then added a red polka dotted heart, a few feathers, and my sentiment to each card. I had intentions of embellishing the cards a bit, but decided that I liked the more simple look to them, without any extra bulk. This makes them easy to mail as well, if needed.

We talked about doing something extra special–like take a trip to Hawaii (I was sooo close to hitting buy when looking at plane tickets)–but I thought that if I was going to spend a chunk of money to do that, then I’d much rather put it towards a trip to Europe with the family a little later in the year. Our family loves to travel and take pictures and we talk of going to France (speaking of love) and Amsterdam quite often (among a million other places to go). We’d love to do London too, but don’t know if that will be in the cards. We are dreamers here in the Bradford house and I’m hoping that dream will come to light for us, because we’ve been talking about a trip like this for two years now. Since Zach speaks French and his bestest missionary companion lives in France, he really wants to go see him.

So, to help us get started in our ‘loverly’ month, here’s a gorgeous card by Queen of Cards herself, our sweet little Shari!

Another fantabulous card! Love how she's coordinated the leaves and banner of the card with the place cards so that you can keep a repeating theme. And how cool would it be to make a little banner with just those leaves and string them up like garland? Or sprinkle them on your table? Maybe write a little message on the flipside of the leaf so that when people pick them up they can read a little message of gratitude. So fun!

And now I thought it might be fun to show off some fun ideas that we’ve seen in the past here at KBS.

Right now a lot of you are thinking about preparing an advent calendar or your December Daily. You might remember this fun little *ehem* number from last year. And there may be those of you who weren’t around last year and may not have seen this one. Hence, the flashback. :)

This is the Christmas Countdown kit that you can use in box or tag form or both! If you want to read all about it, check out this post HERE. And no, I still haven’t bought my frame, wire and clips to hang these cute little boxes. I knew I wouldn’t get it done this week either, so I’m sharin’ it anyway. :)

And see that snowflake there on day 16? Yeah, see what Shari did with that snowflake here.
(I think that snowflake is one of my favorite shapes….)

Wouldn’t that make a simple holiday gift or decoration?  Totally love. As you can see, the kit is so versatile for any holiday project!

Okay, I think that creepy hand is becoming my all-time favorite from that kit! I looove seeing all the different uses the girls have done with it! Additionally, I love how Shari used the printable elements from the full This+That kit to create her card. You can always use those babies for more than just the kit. Remember what Laura Vegas did with her printables? At the tip of your brain? Maybe checking it out again HERE + HERE will help refresh your memory. :)

It can be something big, like seeing your kids all together after five months (Zach just got home from Alaska last night), or something very simple like a cool fall morning, sitting by the open front room window, feeling the breeze and seeing the shadows of the lilac bush dance across the walls and floor.

There is just way too much in this life to enjoy.

 I feel like it’s a positive word.

One that can up lift your spirits.

One that can help turn your mood around when you feel like life is against you.

Think about what you enjoy.

I won’t even talk about the Dr. Pepper I’m enjoying right now.

I really think it makes you feel grateful for what you have.

Look at the positive.

Enjoy means: to get pleasure from.
How you can you not find things that you get pleasure from?

And that’s why I made the word ‘enjoy’ in the Pack Your Bags kit.
One of my favorite things to do is travel, and there’s a lot of enjoyment to be had there!

Of course,  like I say, there’s way too much to enjoy.

Here’s what Laura has to say:

I am constantly in need of birthday cards, and never seem to have enough on hand when I need them. So I thought I would whip up some quick and easy cards to have on hand. I’ve been wanting to try out the confetti trend that is so popular these days, and thought it would be fun to add to the top of a cupcake. I used the cupcake from Kerri’s This & That: Love [just shapes] kit. I cut the bottom part of the cupcake from patterned paper, and the top part from vellum. My intention was to put the punched confetti under the vellum and sew around the edges, but it didn’t work out so well for me. So I ran the vellum part of the cupcake through my Xyron, so that the entire piece was covered in adhesive. Then I sprinkled punched confetti over it, and pushed it all down to cover the piece. The word “enjoy”, from Kerri’s Pack Your Bags kit, was perfect for my sentiment.

In Photoshop, Shari cropped the recipe cards to size and added the flourish to create the base.
Next she created a white panel with the greeting.
Then she added text to the label.

Once it was all created, she printed the components, trimmed them, and assembled them.

voila!

You could then save this as a card and have it on file for the next time you just need to whip something up!

love it!

It’s as easy as 1-2-3  . . . oh, and 4. :)

When Kerri released the ‘Summer Lovin’ kit, I was so excited about some of the great words that could work perfectly for cards! I took the darling ‘hello’ and the great heart square shape from the ‘XOXO’ kit and made some cards. They are colorful and fun and I just love the way that delicate ‘hello’ looks! Thanks for another great kit Kerri!!

Jordan had to get up early to go to a student council meeting.
(she’s the president of ‘bruin crew’–the service based group at the high school)

She had to be there at 6:30 a.m.

I’m going to miss my quiet mornings, allowing me to sleep just a little longer.
But I guess I’m just gonna trade them in for quiet days with kids gone to school.
Means less distractions for me so I can focus on work  . . . unless The Mentalist is on, that is. ;)

What an awesome idea Laura!

Here’s what Laura has to say:

I had printed out some of the print files from the This & That: School kit for a layout I’m working on. I had wanted to use the pieces in place of patterned paper on my layout, and I had some leftover pieces that I didn’t end up using. So I decided to whip up a few quick “Back 2 School” cards. Because the pieces I had left over were smaller, I used them to create a fun border across my cards. I overlapped them as I adhered them, tucking them under my the red number strip of patterned paper to ground them in place. I also used one of the black ruled paper pieces to cut the “ABC” shape from. I’ve been holding onto the This & That kits for a while now, but I never got around to purchasing one of the wooden trays to use them on. I’m glad I got a little creative and found another way to put the print files to good use!

Hello August 4!

So happy to see you!

It’s been a fabulous two years!

I can’t believe all that’s gone on here over the two years.

Let’s see, I’m at 129 kits.

I have a fabulous design team that just absolutely knocks my socks off with everything they make.
I love them dearly and don’t know what I’d do without their amazing talent. truly.

I’ve made friends from all of the world. Got my Aussie friends, my little Scottish friends, friends from Iceland, Vietnam, Russia, Saudi Arabia, France, England (hey UK…how’s those Olympics going? :)), Japan, South Africa, Canada, Dubai, Ukraine, Indonesia, Portugal, Brazil, Hong Kong, Israel . . . and . . . oh my goodness . . . just too many places to list! And I’m always giddy when someone new from some far off land comes along. It’s just makes me appreciate this modern life we live in– that we can all come together and become friends in so many virtual places. It’s taken the term ‘pen pal’ to a whole new level. :)

So to show my appreciation I’m doing the grand daddy giveaway of them all.
