everyday storyteller blog hop + giveaway!

Hello! And welcome to the Everyday Storyteller 2 blog hop!

I am so excited to be a part of this amazing ebook! And to be included with this wonderful bunch of  ladies too? So creative and talented? Wow!

As most of my fans know, I’m super passionate about recording stories . . . but specifically our own story. We are mainly focused on recording the day-to-day and current events, which is great, but what about our personal stories? I know you all have quite a few to share!

Having lost my mother a few years ago, I realized that I lost all her stories. She doesn’t have journals written about her young life and now those stories are gone forever. I don’t want that for my kids. I have a story to tell. We all have a story to tell.

And that’s what my little part in Everyday Storyteller is all about. Sharing tips on how to get those older memories out of your head and onto paper so they can be shared with your posterity forever.

But if you read my little book snippet and you’re thinking to yourself, ‘Wait! That’s not enough. I want more!’ Well,I gotta class for that. ;) It’s called The History Project. You can read all about the details HERE (or use the link on the right).

And in the essence of all things fun and good during a blog hop, if you are interested in taking The History Project class, you can save 10% on the class through this week.

Now, about Everyday Storyteller 2. This is a brand new idea book offering more than 100 tips, tricks and techniques for scrapbooking. You’ll go behind the scenes with 33 of your favorite memory keepers to see how they capture moments, tell stories and document their best memories. Sign up for the VIP list to be the first to know when the book is released and receive an exclusive discount.

Additionally, if you use this VIP link or this purchase link on my site, you’ll receive a $10 gift card to use for a little shopping excursion on my site.

To qualify for the gift card, send me an email at kerri@kerribradford.com with a copy of your order number from the book purchase (using the link on my site) and I’ll get you on your merry way!

And just when you thought it couldn’t get any better?

I’d love to win a copy! It looks fabulous!!

let’s get ready!

National Scrapbook Day is just two weeks from now and I believe in being prepared early! So I’m going to help you get ready for that day dedicated to recording memories with a bit of a fabulous kind of sale.

That’s right. The History Project will be on sale through next Saturday. And after that? Who knows what else might be on sale to help you get going with your National Scrapbook Day madness!

If you’re like me, you want to go and have fun with all your crazy friends, but you wind up chatting more than you do creating. Creating sometimes takes too much thought for me and I never can seem to bring the right stuff–not to mention I don’t like having to carry the whole arsenal of supplies I’d like to use. With The History Project you can cut or print your titles before hand, bring a notebook or a computer and type up your memories. It might even be fun to do as a group and you can all reminisce together…spark those memories!

Now you can get all your supplies and be ready for that first Saturday in May and have a worry-free time at your scrappin’ party!

sing. sing. sing.

Hey all! Just poppin’ in real quick today. I’ve been gone the past week with my hubby to chaperone my daughter’s high school choir. They sang in Carnegie Hall Saturday night. It was spectacular! They ‘closed the show’ and as one stranger told us ‘I can see why they saved you for last.’

Here’s their performance so you can hear it too. Of course, nothing can compare to being in that hall and all the richness it provides. It was amazing…just amazing. They are singing ‘Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing.’

Life will get back to normal soon. Lots of great ideas to come from my design team!

Oh, and I’ve been sharing a few pics on my Facebook because it’s quick and easy, but I’ll be sharing a big post about the trip here soon too. In the interim, you can use the link to the right to get to my Facebook and check out the few things I posted yesterday. :)

Ruth G - April 16, 2013 - 11:52 am

Really lovely! What a fantastic performance and a wonderful opportunity! Thanks so much adding so much beauty to my day!

Mel - April 16, 2013 - 12:25 pm

What song are they singing?

Kerri - April 16, 2013 - 12:32 pm

It’s ‘Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing’. :)

Sue - April 16, 2013 - 12:55 pm

Outstanding! One of my favorite songs – sung amazing. What depth, richness and mature sound of these young people. LOVE it!.
Congrats.

K - April 16, 2013 - 1:40 pm

Wow, I really enjoyed that. Thanks for sharing.

Lillian - April 16, 2013 - 6:01 pm

Hi – I just wanted to say thank you – I discovered your site through a link on pinterest and then some of your beautiful cut files….I have just finished making some wall art for a couple of important people using the I am a child of God file – I traced it and then cut it on my silhouette and backed some of the words….so thank you – they both love them :D

pinterest wasn’t built in a day

I’ve always enjoyed Pinterest from afar. I use it to gain inspiration but never wanted to be sucked into the idea of pinning things because I know how it can eat up one’s time.

But alas, I have succumbed.

You can now follow me on Pinterest HERE.

But just like Rome, my Pinterest is not going to be built in one day, so it is a work in progress. I will be finding lots of color and text and food, oh my! I will also be putting all my designers’ gloriousness out there as well.

Here’s just a sample at what I’ve pinned so far.

Words are my favorite thing…ever. I love when something is said well and/or it’s designed well. So expect this one to be big as I go through the land of Pinterest. :)

What have I gotten myself into????

Cara - April 6, 2013 - 11:42 am

I love how you are using Pinterest! I love words too. Thanks for sharing.

Dolly - April 6, 2013 - 12:15 pm

Happy finding Pinteresting stuff! :D

Cindy Sowell - April 6, 2013 - 10:31 pm

Pinterest has opened up a world full of ideas and inspiration for me! I LOVE it!

Phyllis B. - April 7, 2013 - 12:23 am

Would hate to think of how many “pinning hours” I have put in…It is best that I not know! I have a word board, too, but it will never live up to yours, I am sure. You go, Girl! Can’t wait to see what you come up with!

Carol Mc - April 13, 2013 - 10:35 am

I’ll be following you on Pinterest
starting today. I have a board
of Quotes on Pinterest, I love
them too.

When I’m on Pinterest I have to
set a timer, otherwise I could
spend hours there without realizing
it.

Happy Pinning!

en route.

You may have noticed my  Silhouette classes over on JessicaSprague.com have been boxed up and they are now en route to my house. Takes a little time to make that trip ‘cross country from her place to mine. And I wasn’t expecting the moving guys to do some sight seeing along the way–doing things like making stops in Dollywood and the Alamo, the ‘Big Heads’ in South Dakota, playing the slots in Vegas, having to see the world’s biggest ball of twine….and who knows what else.

But they are ‘on their way’ here and should be unpacked and ready to go soon! I know you are all as anxiously awaiting their arrival as I am.

We are going to party! I have some great ideas for this new adventure! Can’t wait!

Tiffany H - April 4, 2013 - 1:38 pm

Thanks for the update. I recently purchased a Silhouette Portrait and have been looking into tutorials/classes to help me get the most of my purchase. I had heard about your classes but when I went to Jessica’s website they were nowhere to be found. Can’t wait for the classes to arrive at their new home!

Ruth G - April 4, 2013 - 1:48 pm

Kerri, I hope the moving guys get a move on! I was blessed to win a Cameo (I can’t tell you how long I’ve been trying – but realize what an amazing prize it is) and now am so excited that I can take your Silhouette classes! I had checked over at Jessica Sprague also and then realized I remembered something about you doing the classes directly from your site (yay for you! Although I love Jessica, too!) So tell those muscley men that I have a deep desire to take your classes and that they can go on vacation after the move is over!
BTW, just curious if your classes use the basic Studio software or if it’s using Designer Edition? I’d like to make sure I have what I’ll need so the teacher doesn’t mark me down a grade because I don’t come to class prepared…

Michelle Galloway - April 4, 2013 - 3:09 pm

LOL”) I just sent you a PM, then continued onto your Blog to check out your site and saw this posting about classes for the Silhouette, so I think you’ve answered my question…Classes are coming soon…..YippEE!

Lycia - April 6, 2013 - 9:47 am

Yay!!!! I bought a Cameo about a month ago and devoured your first two classes :). I’m ready for more, so was disappointed that they are “in transit” but so excited that they will soon be in their new home. Will be anxiously awaiting news of their arrival!

AnnieB - April 8, 2013 - 11:36 am

Anxiously awaiting.

Kim - April 13, 2013 - 9:25 am

Hi Kerri!
I purchased your classes over on the Jessica Sprague blog some time ago and I learned SO MUCH! I love referring back to them when I need to. When the “move” is complete, where will I access my classes? Will they be here or there?

Thanks so much

KIm

Debra - April 20, 2013 - 3:33 am

I have the same question as Kim (above comment)
I also purchased all your Silhouette classes at Jessica Sprague (I LOVE LOVE LOVE them)but am wondering where I will go to access them once the move is complete?

Thanks
Deb

Kerri - April 20, 2013 - 9:31 am

If you have already purchased classes from JS.com, you will have forever access there.
If you purchase any new classes from me, you will have forever access here.

Hope that helps! :)

AnnieB - May 2, 2013 - 8:19 am

Is the class close to be “unpacked”???????

quick update

Hey everyone! Just letting you know that we had a fabulous time here in Florida with Lisa’s first HSN appearance. Very excited to be sitting on a plane today. My littler piggies–and the rest of me–is quite tired.  :)

If you’re looking for your history project email, it’ll go out later tomorrow. I had plans to get it done  while here, but we had much more work than anticipated.  But if you’d like a little hint? What did you wanna be when you grew up? :)

Back to business tomorrow…
