freebie | the monster at the end of the book

So maybe this is the monster anywhere within the book. ;)
(I loved that book, by the way.)

My niece works at a mental hospital and found a cute little monster bookmark project for them to do. When she brought it out to show us at our family party? All the older kids wanted to make some! It was so funny, but they sure had fun!

So of course I thought it would make a great freebie! A super fun project for all your little monsters . . . uhhh . . . I mean . . . kiddos during the Christmas break–after they come down from their sugar high, that is.

You can download it for free HERE.

You can make them in one of two ways: user your craft cutter or print out the PDF and use it as a template. It’s super easy for young hands to do with tracing + scissors too. Just a few straight cuts and you’re done. My niece didn’t have a circle punch and used a glue stick to trace one of her circles.

Here’s how to make it:
Cut all shapes using PDF template or cut on your die cutter.
Fold corners of bookmark along the scored edge–do not adhere yet.
     Adhere complementary color square.

Place adhesive along the top edge of the teeth and adhere to the under side of one of the flaps.

Adhere other flap over top of teeth.

Adhere eyes together and onto the bookmark. You can use the ones provided or use any circle punches.
The eyes in this example are 1.25″, 1″ and .5″.
You’re now ready for your new monster bookmark!

And on another note, I hope you had a terrific Christmas! Ours was simple, but everyone got some really fun things…things they wanted…camera bags, boots…a new tv for the family room! Yes, we finally stepped into the 21st century and got a flat screen tv.

Shocker. I know.

And…

I got a Cameo! Haven’t broken it out of the box yet (I know….*gasp*), but it will make its appearance soon, I’m sure!

I also do believe I single-handly caused a butter shortage. Holy cow! Let’s see, I made gobs and gobs of cheesy potatoes, those peppermint brownies I mentioned on Facebook, Tomato Basil Parmesan soup, Pumpkin Bars, and Caramel French Toast.

Butter.

Butter.

And more butter.

But ohhhhhhh so delicious!

Cute bookmark! You got a Cameo!!!! Me too. Can’t wait to use it, i did get it out of the box finally yesterday. And just know you can’t use too much butter. Congrats on the TV. My kids wanted to watch old family videos but my husband has not converted to DVD yet and they could not believe we don’t have a VHS player anymore. It was kind of funny that they wanted to revert back to that and go find one. Probably by the time he gets around to converting to DVD everything will be some other method of madness. Enjoy your week friend.

    Hi Kerri,
I have a question re: your Post on Dec.16th. Regarding the mantel banner that Kristi Banks made for you. Do you know where she got the pattern for that? It’s sooo adorable! I also noticed on Lisa Bearson’s blog that she has 1 too. Lisa showed the halloween one also. If you know the pattern #; or any info; would love to know. thanks so much, and wish you & your family a Happy New Year!
