blast from the past | my travel journal

Cleaning your office can bring such delight! I came across something I haven’t seen for a couple years at least . . . I think I’d pretty much forgotten about it even! I made this six years ago when getting ready for a trip to Ireland, Scotland + England.

When I saw it I was just tickled pink at all its yummy goodness. I loved making this interactive and interesting with the variety of lettering, cropped pages, and pockets. As you can see, I ran out of letters on some things. I have more, I just never got around to finishing the book.

I prepared most of this before the trip–the backgrounds, cutting out holes, trimming pages and/or turning them into a file folder shape, etc. And then I took a small grouping of things that wouldn’t take up much room in my bag, like the rub-on letters, the letter stickers, a roll of adhesive (so I could glue postcards, pamphlets and tickets) and things like that. I also doubled up some pages to make pockets, by trimming and adhering them together as well as adding envelopes to hold tickets or receipts.

So much fun to make and so much fun to discover again!

Now I just need to take another lengthy trip so I can have an excuse to make another one of these!

And if any of you went on that Hawaiian cruise with Lisa + me or if you got the CK KOTM Travel Journal, yeah, this is where those ideas came from. :)
