one more off my ‘to-do’ list

June 29th, 2012|digital shapes|

Ahhhhh . . . that feels good!

Nothing like starting a kit a few weeks ago and have it sit for a while. :)

Oddly enough this one is about ‘time’ of some fashion. lol

Oh, and this morning I heard the Black Eyed Peas singing ‘Let’s Get It Started.’
If you remember from an earlier post I was going to change the tune to ‘Let’s Get It Finished.’
It was a sign–or a celebration . . . something anyway.

So, without wasting in more time, here’s the new Today kit!

[ Comes in SVG/STUDIO/AIv8/DXF/PNG ]

Price: $7

There are 12 words in this baby . . . something for every day of the week . . . and then some. ;)
You could even combine some words like ‘morning time’.

Great for everyday pages, invitations, Project Life . . . lots of possibilities!

storyboards…you can never have enough, right?

June 28th, 2012|photo templates|

It’s true.

I don’t know about you, but I can never have enough of these.

It’s almost like having one for any occasion that may occur.

They are truly my favorite thing to scrap with.

Here’s the latest!

Price: $9

There is a mix of ten storyboards in this one.
A couple of 12×12 that would be awesome to slip into a page protector for a vacation or event!

As usual, you can resize these to whatever you’d like.
It’s best to resize it before putting your photos if you’re gonna go bigger.

Also, as usual, all sizes and the amount are listed as part of the filename, along with the kit name.

If you’re going to send it to a photo printer, many photo printers will try to expand the template so that it will fit the paper size format you’re printing it on. So a little tip, after you’ve created your new JPG, try placing it on a set paper size, like 8×10, 5×7, etc., and resave it in that new size–white space and all. That way the photo developer will look at the size of the photo in it’s ‘true form’ and print accordingly without resizing. Just make sure your new file is set to 300 dpi too.

And on another note, if you follow me on Facebook, you’ll know about all the fires going on here in Utah. Jordan was at girls camp and got evacuated (volunteer/non emergent at the time) and came home yesterday morning–after taking her up the afternoon before. Luckily our neighbor has some property in another mountainess area and let the whole stake (about 10 wards/congregations) of girls ages 12-18 to go up there. Not sure how many total that is, but there’s around 25 in ours. How generous for her to do that.

I’ve been watching for clips of whether or not the fire has gone the way of Camp Mia Shalom. I went there as a child as a young girl too–30 years ago. We had to take Jordan to drop her off and it was just soooo pretty. I can’t imagine if it were to get in the path of the fire. It already looks like it was in Huntington Canyon (not too far away). Gorgeous canyon! Dan and Zach loooove fishing there. Here’s a photo from when Zach and I took Jordan up to camp last year. I hope it won’t look different when we go up there again. It’s one thing when it burns the sage brush, but when it gets into meadows, pine trees and aspen trees…all that time that it’ll take to grow again? Sadness.

Here’s hoping it still looks like this . . .

my to-do list

June 27th, 2012|Uncategorized|

You know. It’s been a crazy past few months.

So many things that I’ve been wanting to get done, but my classes kind of ruled my life for a bit.

I have a big to-do list.

Some things I’ve had on my list since last summer even.

You know that song, ‘Let’s Get It Started’?
Yeah, I need to modify it to ‘Let’s Get It Finished.

I’ve started soooo many new kits that I just need to get done.

Here’s a sneak at a few things on my ‘to-do’ list–or rather–‘to get finished’ list:

  • Handwritten days and months (yeah, started that a few weeks ago while getting my hair done).
  • Birthday kit (too embarrassed to say when that one was started)
  • Life Additions kit
  • Storyboard kit (so close to being done…maybe tomorrow?)
  • Dog kit
  • Cat kit
All these things . . . in the works. Hopefully I can buckle down and get them done finally! I was waiting to get my new version of Adobe Illustrator (CS6) to work on a few things that I hear tell work much better in the newest version. So far, what I was messing with does work better. Happy ’bout that.

On another note–my family that was here for a week has returned home to sunny California. It was fun getting to spend time with my dad, step mom and niece. It’s a great excuse for the entire family to get together here. Good times. :)

Now. I guess it’s time to back to work.

I’ve got my pen in hand . . . ever-so ready to cross off those things on my to-do list. :)

4th of July will be here soon!

June 23rd, 2012|digital kits|

I can’t believe that the 4th of July is just around the corner!!!

Thought I should pop in real quick with some brand new subway art . . .
ya know, in case you were decorating and all. :)

And in case you Canadians were a-wonderin’ . . . my intent is to make one for y’all too,
but with company here, my time is a bit limited. I hope to get it up though in the next
few short days. :)

And I will try to get to my emails soon too.
I appreciate y’all’s patience as I enjoy my family here for a few days. :)

i love color.

June 21st, 2012|nichol magouirk, pages|

Don’t you just ever come across some item where the colors just make you go . . .
ahhhhhh . . . .

Yeah, that would be this darling of a page from none other than Miss Nichol.

[ Shapes | Life Additions 2 (‘every picture’ / This+That: Family (instant frame) / This+That: Spring / XOXO (doily / Label It (tab) / Holly Jolly (tag) / December Addtions: The Extras (tag) / oddsANDends (‘here+now’) / On The Edge (notebook edge) / Summer Lovin’ (‘outside) ]

I say this all the time, but I adore Nichol’s talent for putting all that goodness on a page!

How does she do that anyway?
If I did it, it would just look like I had an embellishment throw-up episode.
and you try typing+linking her supply list! ;)

And to top it all with all those fabulous color choices?

sooooo diggin’ it.

Here’s what Nichol has to say:

I wanted to convey the sense of summer throughout my layout with the use of color and embellishments. One of my favorite things to do is to add layers for lots of dimension and I love, love, love office style products! The file folder makes for a fun embellishment with little bits and pieces sticking out and held shut with some twine. A doily adorns the front and a tag distressed with Studio Calico Mister Huey and a die cut title finish the embellishment.

For the title I first created a strip from white cardstock. I wanted the strip to mimic a long white envelope so I die cut 2 tabs (one from Label It and one Kerri designed exclusively for my Confessions of a B Side Scrapper Class) because they resembled the top and bottom flaps of a tie-string envelope. Then I die cut the inside part of Kerri’s instant frame and layered a photo underneath before adhering to the white cardstock strip. I die cut the title from 2 different kits and layered one on top of the other. I love combining a scripty font with a classic one.

Kerri’s tags are some of my most used die cuts. I love how you can add anything to them for whatever style project you might be working on!

Don’t forget to enter for a chance to win a $25 gift card in yesterday’s post!

giveaway? well, i do believe so!

June 20th, 2012|Uncategorized|

I’m feeling saucy today!

I don’t know. Maybe it was just the combination of a clean house (almost), the morning light, the cool breeze coming through the window and the sound of the mourning dove that put me in such a fine mood. :)

And maybe it’s because of all the fun new people stopping by.

Whatever the case may be, I thought maybe I should give away three of these!

To be entered, just leave your name and where you’re from and you are good to go!
(winners can be from anywhere. love digital for that!)
I’ll draw the three winners first thing Friday morning.

And I just want to remind you that if you’ve been thinking about taking a Silhouette class, now would be a great time because JessicaSprague.com has all their classes on sale for 20% this week in celebration of her 5th birthday! Five!

Item #2

Yesterday was Father’s Day.

I’d planned on posting yesterday, but Sunday just kind of got away from me. We had a lovely day of church, skyping with Zach, making cabbage salad and chocolate chip cookies for dinner with Dan’s family, having dinner with the gang, more skyping with Zach with the whole gang, and then enjoying a movie with the girls when we got home. It was nice to ignore the computer all day long. :)

So, as a result, here’s the freebie that should have been up yesterday.

I hope you all had a wonderful day yesterday!

Item #3

And last, but not least, check out what Nichol has been up to!

[ Shapes | Summer Lovin’ (hello) / Life Additions 2 (tabbed card) / This+That: Freedom (banner+sunburst) / Signed.Sealed.Delivered (star circle) / This+That: Spring (kite) ]

I love how loaded this tiny little card is . . . but it doesn’t look loaded.
Nichol has such a way of using so many things and it looks like art!

*sigh*

love.

I would love to get something like this!!!

Here’s what Nichol has to say:

I love combining elements from lots of kits for truly unique projects. The sunburst is one of my very favorite shapes and the banner is one I use over and over and over. I love stamping greetings or phrases on the banner. Be sure to measure your stamp prior to die cutting to make sure you resize the banner so that the stamped image will fit.

Dimensional embellishments like twine and gems help “liven up” die cut shapes.

Okay then. Did you enjoy that group of three as much as me? :)

summer lovin’

June 14th, 2012|digital shapes|

Summer is just getting into full swing . . . well, for most of us, anyway.
I have a little Canadian friend that I know is still in school.
(So sorry Cin. ;) )

So here’s a little kit with 12 summer-ee words  to help you get all those summer fun pages done.

[ Comes in SVG/STUDIO/AIv8/DXF/PNG ]

Price: $7

Here’s a little something I think I’ll be using for our summer vacation.
( Yes, Cindy. We’re still planning on coming. ;) )

And of course, there’s many of these that you can use for other things . . . it ain’t just for summer.
Use the ‘hello’ or ‘goodbye’ on a card. Combine the handwritten word with another font (like I did).

Lots of possibilities here!
