anniversary recap

First, I just wanted to say thank you for all the fun anniversary wishes. It’s funny, 25 years seems like quite an achievement in this day and time. Dan, Kass and I were talking yesterday and said that it’s been 25 years and now we’re just in it forever. But if I ever kick Dan out of the bedroom, it’s not because we’re getting divorced, it’ll be for you’re-snoring-I-gotta-sleep factor. :)

So we just went to Salt Lake to spend the night at the Marriott Hotel, since it was right by the places we (or I) wanted to go–City Creek Center (a big mall) and Cheesecake Factory.

This was the view out our window (love the inversion–blech). I took this photo with my panoramic feature on my iPhone and the edited it a little in PS to take out some of the distortion.

We ate linner (late lunch/early dinner) at The Cheesecake Factory. I had something called Chicken Bellagio and it was divine. Basil pasta with breaded chicken, prosciutto, and arugula on top. It was so good. And Dan got some Hibachi steak. And then we topped it off with this Snickers cheesecake.

Okay, so maybe we just took a couple bites and took it back to the hotel…along with my leftovers. It’s soooo much food!

And here’s a view of part of City Creek. I thought it looked cool to see the temple through there. And….oh my goodness…look what’s to the left there! Yes, that would be Tiffany’s.

And yes, I bought something there.

I really did want a ring to commemorate our 25th anniversary and always said he was going to get me a really good ring. But when it came down to it and I see how expensive diamond jewelry is….I just can’t justify it. Give me some nice looking QVC Diamonique and I’m totally happy with that (and I have a lot ;)). So, I thought this gorgeous silver Tiffany’s mesh ring was perfect to celebrate our 25th ‘silver’ anniversary. What girl doesn’t want some kind of jewelry from Tiffany’s?

And am I so warped to be so indifferent at the jewelry in the stores but get excited over ginormous Apple store there? My comment to Dan was. ‘It’s so pretty!’ I’m such a geek! Especially considering a new MacBook Pro would cost around the same as an anniversary band…and I’d much rather have the computer. I hate being so danged practical. :)

But I’m really happy with what i got. Dan’s going to get a new ‘silver’ (or whatever color) golf club…whenever he finds the right one.

So, yeah. That about sums up our little mini vaca.
We’re also planning on taking a 25th anniversary trip….hopefully to Europe.

I’m saving my pennies. :)

Happy anniversary! Our Silver is next year and I’ve got that very ring on my wish list. I’ll probably have to remind the mister though since that is over a year away. ;) And we are Apple people so I totally get you!

I think the ring is awesome. Nothing wrong with practicality!

That’s one of my favorite rings–so very comfortable!! I’m like you that I can’t justify buying real diamonds at this point in our marriage when some fake ones look as real and more beautiful than the real ones!!! Glad y’all had a great time!!!

I agree with everyone else….absolutely nothing wrong with being practical. Personally, I think more people should try that, but that’s a completely different subject. Besides, it would be SO much nicer to spend that money on a trip that EVERYONE can remember rather than some stupid ring on your finger that you have to worry about losing or getting stolen. Enjoy that trip girl! BTW…..LOVE the photos!

I looove your ring Kerri, I’m not an overly big jewelry person but this has a timeless elegance to it. I’d probably get more excited at an apple store too, all that shiny white goodness and so much more versatile then jewels. Our 25th isn’t until next year, maybe I should start planning now, lol.

Glad you had a wonderful anniversary trip! I hope I’m on the visiting list when you come to Scotland!

Your husband (and you, too, I guess) aligned your anniversary AND Valentines Day? Well played I say!
