hello 2013 + sale + freebie

You know, when I saw this lovely creation from Nichol–all that diecutting goodness, I thought to myself, “Is there really anything I could say to do it justice? Should I just let the photos speak for themselves?”

Well, I think I shall let you be the judge. Look closely at every little detail. It is divine.

[ ShapesHeart BackgroundstwentyTHIRTEEN (2013) / This & That: Love (tag) / XOXO (hearts) / Summer Lovin’ (hello) / Picture That [Squared] (resized to 5.75″ to fit after adding photos) / This Everything (quote) / Design Team Picks (thought bubble) ]

Well? What do you think?
Wow, right?

Here’s what Nichol has to say:

Even though it’s halfway through April I’m just now getting around to creating the title page for my 2013 Project Life Album. I’m glad I waited to make the title page as I had started it a couple of times and both times it just wasn’t coming together in a way that made me happy. I switched out the more traditional Project Life sheet protector design for this one featuring 4 – 6×6 pockets and the design just fell together really quickly! I love how this quadrant style sheet protector allows for 4 “mini” style scrapbook layouts! I approached each pocket as it’s own “page”. By using similar colors and theme(s) on all 4 “pages” it creates a cohesive and well coordinated 12×12 page but each square can stand alone as well! ;)

I mixed in lots of stamping with all the die cuts used and to make the photo collage fit my design, I resized and dropped my photos in the collage as normal in my photo editing software, flattened it and THEN resized it to a 5.75″ square. Easy peasy!

To keep dimension to a minimum in my album, I am keeping things like buttons and brads and badges to a minimum but I still want to “embellish”. Ranger’s Glossy Accents is my best die cutting embellishment friend next to stamps! By adding a bit of glossy accents (on this page I added it to several of the heart accents and two of the words in the quote) and allowing it to completely dry, it gives the illusion and appearance of a dimensional sticker without the bulk! Love that!

Now, you all know how we are gearing up for National Scrapbook Day. So Nichol’s page inspired me to put the handwritten words on sale today through Thursday!

To see all the handwritten word kits, click HERE.

And  I couldn’t let another day go by without a freebie. If you’re a fan on Facebook, you know I heard this phrase on television the other night and just had to share it. Well, I just have to share it in a cuttable file too! But just like today’s sale, it’s only free through Thursday. So you’ll wanna be sure to tell your friends to come pick it up asap so that they can get it before it goes into the store for .99.

To download this file, click on the image or click HERE.

This is no longer available as a freebie, but you can buy it HERE.

I can’t believe we are half way through our week already.
And don’t even get me started on the fact that it’s May!

Thank you so very much for the freebie. I saw this saying on your fb post and just loved it then and love it even more now that I have it to cut out. Speaking of cutting out…any update on your Silhouette classes. I recently bought a Portrait and am slowly learning how to use it. Would love to know how I get this freebie into my Silhouette program so I can cut it out.

Fabulous LO! I love how Nichol puts a darker colored cardstock behind her cuts to create dimension and add to readability. Pure genius (and patience – I always feel “done” just doing one large cut…)! Thanks so much for sharing the LO and the inspiration phrase! Such an important thing to remember!

This quote is going to be perfect. I’m finishing up an album for my friend’s daughter who survived being hit by an SUV. Her name is Joy.

    Always love Nichol’s layouts.
