I have this thing about learning.

I love figuring things out and I love learning new things.

But I’m not always first on the bandwagon when it comes to technology. Case in point, I didn’t get even get a smart phone until December when I got my very first iPhone 5. I never felt the need for being connected to the internet all the time. When I found out that I could get an unlocked iPhone without a data plan? I was in! All I wanted or needed was wi-fi. There are so many places you can get on for free anymore. Even Home Depot has free wi-fi.

I wanted more than anything to have a phone, wi-fi, media player (music and movies), and a great camera all rolled into one.

I was becoming ‘jealous’ of all these fun things people were doing and sharing them so easily.

I wanted that too. Mostly, I really wanted to have a great quality camera on me at all times to catch those moments I always wanted without having to lug around the big mama camera…or another small camera. I mean how often do you lug your big SLR with you. It’s just not feasible, right? That purse gets really heavy, not to mention the SLR can do a number on your pocket.

I wanted all that glorious in one rectangular pocket-sized visual device.

And finally, I got my sweet little white package a few months ago.

I love it.

Don’t know what I’d do without it now. And I still don’t need to be connected with a data plan. It’s funny because my kids mocked me…mocked me…for not wanting a data plan. ‘Why on earth would you want a smart phone without a data plan?? It defeats the purpose.’ And now? They are all saying they want to be less connected by not having a data plan…just to have wi-fi. Mom’s not so dumb, now is she.

So combine my thirst for learning with my love for my little phone and my love for photography, and I knew this class was for me!

I’m excited to be challenged.

I’m excited to try something new.

I’m excited to learn and be inspired to create wonderful photos like these:

I’m thrilled to get to be a part of all these amazing instructors and take a peek inside their phone-ee brains. ;)

Just look at all those fabulous instructors!!! How can I not be excited about that!
