True Scrap Pocket Pages + Giveaway

Pocket page scrapbooking.

You may also know it as Project Life scrapbooking. It is something I whole heartedly believe in, yet I don’t do it. I don’t know why.  Maybe it’s a mentality thing. Maybe it’s a ‘I never really can scrap anyway’ thing. But I tell ya, I am so thinking of doing it, or a combination of doing it with traditional scrapping. It’s been on my mind a lot with the turning of a calendar year.

Ever since I got my iPhone a year ago, life is so much easier to capture from the spontaneity side of things. I love it. Love it. Love it. And I need to preserve it.

That’s where this will come in handy:

TSPP logo

An event centered around doing just the very thing I want to do???

And that Lain Ehmann sure knows how to put on a show, does she not? And that all-star line up? Holy cannoli! I can’t wait!

True Scrap Pocket Pages is THE event for Project Life/pocket scrapbookers! Whether you’re new to the concept, or you’ve been a PL’er from way back, we’ve got six incredible classes to inspire and educate you. And the best part? It’s online – LIVE! Yup, on January 25, you’ll log in to a state-of-the-art web room where teachers like Marcy Penner, Layle Koncar, and Lilith Eeckels will treat attendees to hour-long classes on these topics:

These girls knock my socks off with their creative goodness!

You’ll have plenty of time to interact with the instructors live, asking them all your burning pocket scrapbooking questions. And with sponsors including Simon Says Stamp, Gossamer Blue, Project Life, Studio Calico, and Simple Stories, it’s going to be an incredibly colorful, creative, and community-filled day. Oh, and everything is recorded so you can go back to watch the replays again and again.

True Scrap Pocket Pages is produced by scrapbook superhero Lain Ehmann, founder of the True Scrap events. To date, she’s produced dozens of online virtual events, helping thousands of women find simplicity, inspiration, and fun in their scrapbooking.

  1. Nicole January 7, 2014 at 3:44 pm

I love project life! It’s the best! And I’d love to take this class to learn more on my favorite topic from some of my favorite project lifers. Thanks for the opportunity!

  2. Michele Draper, UT January 7, 2014 at 3:45 pm

Well I am trying to get into the simpler way of scrapping. Right now I do the traditional 12×12 pages….scrapping individual books for 4 granddaughters has gotten to be WAY too much for this working gramma! I have been buying Simple Stories paper and still haven’t used it with the pocket method…..I am still talking about it, just not sure how to transition on over! HELP!!!!!!

  3. Susan January 7, 2014 at 3:56 pm

I’m from Idaho, and my favorite technique is — actually getting a page done! I have been considering simplifying and moving to the pocket pages, though I think I will create them digitally. I could use some inspiration to make the plunge!

  4. Carol F. January 7, 2014 at 3:57 pm

    Carol – Nebraska

I tried to do PL last year and didn’t get very far. I really like the idea, so I’m trying again this year. I just got an iPhone, so I’m hoping that will help capture those day-to-day moments.

  5. JudyJ January 7, 2014 at 3:57 pm

Hi I’m Judy from Eastern Washington. This would be great to win. I have started Project Life several times over the past few years, but get hung up on doing it perfectly. I think organization is the key.

  6. Vanessa Kelly January 7, 2014 at 4:10 pm

I love being able to get a two page spread when I don’t have tons of pictures. I can fill the pockets with embellishment I create or memorabilia from the day! I do, however, need to jump start my creativity for 2014 and this is just what I need!!

  7. Tammy January 7, 2014 at 4:11 pm

O this would be so much fun to win since I know nothing about scrapbooking. Thanks Kerri for the chance

  8. Michell B January 7, 2014 at 4:19 pm

I’m Michell from Irving, TX! I am just starting PL this year so I would love to get some tips from this awesome class!! I will be using my iphone & canon selphy for most of the pics so I can capture more day-to-day moments :)

  9. Nita K. January 7, 2014 at 4:19 pm

I love Project Life! It’s taken the pressure off of scrapping for me. I love to add extra stuff like movie tickets, parts of bags, etc. it will be nice to look back some day to see how things have changed.

  10. Rhadonda January 7, 2014 at 4:20 pm

Rhadonda from frigid Sterling, IL I enjoyed doing digital PL last year though it was a little challenge being an empty nester but am trying to embrace finding many things to photograph! Thanks!

  11. Darlene R January 7, 2014 at 4:23 pm

My name is Darlene, I live in Griffin, Georgia about 50 plus miles south of Atlanta. I like being able to run my journaling cards through the printer because I can get more information on the day’s activities that way. I use Project Life as an illustrated diary of my life. Thanks for the chance to win a place in the class. :)

  12. Christine January 7, 2014 at 4:28 pm

Hi, my name is Christine and I live in Alabama. I love the Project Life concept and have been wanting to scrap in this way for awhile now. Well, this Christmas I received a Canon Selphy as a gift and I’m so thrilled that it will print straight from my phone wirelessly. I’ve had an awful time trying to get my cell phone pictures on paper but no more. I love my new photo printer and have started with my second week of Project Life plus took Becky Higgins tip from her blog and preserved all of my Christmas cards from this year in pocket pages. I’m really feeling lost though about how to organize my stuff, what I really need, and how to show the everyday in a meaningful way. I would love to win this class and learn more so that I will continue to be successful throughout the entire year.
Thanks for the chance to win! Lain is such an asset to the scrapbooking community. Thanks to her for making it possible to win too!

  13. Lynda Callan Griffith January 7, 2014 at 4:31 pm

Here I am in fidget Wisconsin, would love to learn the Project Life scrap-booking. Thanks for a chance to win.

  14. Melanie S. January 7, 2014 at 4:39 pm

Hello, My name is Melanie and I’m from Wisconsin.

To be honest I don’t scrap in the “normal” project life like others. I want to use the divided page protectors to go along with my normal 12×12 layouts. Mix and match through out my album. I love the look of the divided pages…honestly I’m stumped and need inspiration!

I have been waiting for an online class, with this topic, for sometime. I’m so happy!!!!

  15. Pamela McGillin January 7, 2014 at 4:44 pm

My most used, favorite technique (or trick) is to open Photoshop, drag in a 4×6 jpeg I’ve saved with the a guide line straight down the middle. Open two pictures that I want to use as 3x4s. Size them with the Style: Ratio: 3×4. Copy/Paste them onto the 4×6. Use Edit – Transform – Scale & make them fit in the 3×4 grid on the 4×6.
Two 3x4s on one 4×6. Print & trim to fit my pocket.
This method can be used for any size. 2x2s, 2×4, collaged or printed & trimmed. You can also save any size photo jpeg, arrange your guides lines the way you want.

  16. Carla Hundley January 7, 2014 at 4:54 pm

    Carla from Utah
    I like the simple
    style with PL.

  17. april January 7, 2014 at 5:00 pm

My name is april, and I am from Denver CO. Unfortunately, I don’t have any favorites, or secrets because I am brand spanking new to this craziness! I hope to learn lots from this great new class!
    Thanks for this opportunity!

  18. Tina L January 7, 2014 at 5:07 pm

I’m Tina, in frozen Minnesota. I never really scrapbooked until I did Project Life 2 years ago. I love looking back at hat album, and had a great time making it, but still fell off the PL wagon last year. I was “too busy” to “keep up”. Becky would tell me that there is no falling behind, and that I was making it too hard if I felt I was too busy. So, my advice would be keep it simple- don’t feel a need to make your album look like the ones you see on blogs.
I had forgotten about Lain’s class and am thrilled to have a reminder as well as a discount. I’m looking forward to the inspiration and tricks to keeping things simple! Thanks, Kari!

  19. Tiffany H. January 7, 2014 at 5:10 pm

    Tiffany H
    Irvine, CA
My favorite pocket scrapbooking technique is to us it as it is–write a bit on cards, drop in cards, drop in photos and call it done. ;-)

  20. Cheryl :) January 7, 2014 at 5:12 pm

Hi. I’m Cheryl from Missouri. My favorite technique is taking a pic and resizing it into 2-4×6 photos to use side by side in PL pockets. Learned this from Catherine Davis. Have been “eyeing” TS Pocket Pages for a while now. Would LOVE to take part in it. Thanks for the chance.

  21. Carrie Pangborn January 7, 2014 at 5:14 pm

I’m Carrie from California and I just started with PL this year, I love the concept and being able to get the photos off of my phone. Not sure if it is really a technique but I love the ability to use 2×2 all the way up to 4×6 or bigger of photos if I want and it all goes together! Thanks for the chance to win!

  22. Lisa S. January 7, 2014 at 5:14 pm

Hi this is Lisa from Texas. I just find pocket scrapping so fast, but would love to learn some new techniques. Thanks for the chance to win!

  25. jett H January 7, 2014 at 5:28 pm

Jett from TX here. I just recently tried pocket pages for the first time and I found it very challenging. My normal LOs are 12×12 so working in these smaller spaces was hard. Sounds like this would be a great class for me!

  26. Nicole Norman January 7, 2014 at 5:35 pm

Nicole Norman – Kingman, IN – I like to put text on my photos in the computer before I print them.

  27. Ginna Cumley January 7, 2014 at 5:44 pm

    Hi this is Ginna.
I live in Colorado north of Denver.
I just got my 1st set of Project Life goodies.
    Got the awesome overlays TOO!
I main goal is to “STOP REINVENTING THE WHEEL” every time I sit down to do a scrap book page. Pockets seem like a great solution.

  28. Megan K. January 7, 2014 at 6:12 pm

Hi. I’m Megan. I’m from Boca Raton FL. I’m pretty new to Project Life, but since acquiring me Cameo over the summer I’ve been making my own filler cards for the sheets in addition to the Honey collection. I’m also looking into doing layouts digitally as well. Thank you for the opportunity for a class!

  29. Karen January 7, 2014 at 6:15 pm

I’m from the Philadelphia area. I’ve never done Project Life or Pocket Pages but I am intrigued. Thanks for the chance to win a spot in the class.

  30. Casie January 7, 2014 at 6:17 pm

I love the idea of project life, but just haven’t gotten it to be a part of my routine.

  31. Candy Bryant January 7, 2014 at 6:25 pm

You’re freezing and I’m sweating. Must be close to 80º here in Kailua, HI. It did get down to 69º last night! Had to get out a blanket! I’m starting my 4th (!!!) year of Project Life and I still love it. Love looking back and sharing. I started yoga in August of 2011 and started keeping a daily diary/planner. I have counted every class and today I finished my 396th!!! Since I was writing in it everyday, with PL it was easy to note what was what that day and to jot down if I took any pictures. Even if I get behind with PL, I can look back and easily fill in those weeks. I don’t have to rely on my foggy memory!
My feeling of accomplishment is off the charts and since doing the History Project I have a way of working on the past and the present while leaving a record for the future! I hope I win this class and maybe even have a few gems of my own to share.
    Hugs & Aloha.

  32. Becky Adams January 7, 2014 at 6:36 pm

  33. Kelley Baker January 7, 2014 at 6:47 pm

Hi, it’s Kelley from Fort Worth, TX. I don’t have a favorite pocket/simple scrapper technique because I’ve pocket scrapped. Am really interested in starting project life but am not sure I know where to start other than just jump in….Scared it might be overwhelming. Maybe this event is just what I need!

  34. jeannie Boudet January 7, 2014 at 6:48 pm

I am about to start my first Project life. Just got a few products but sure could use some inspiration before I get my feet wet! I love the concept that it will be much more faster than regular scrapbooking. So crossing my fingers, this sounds like the right class to get me going! thanks for the chance Kerri.

  36. Judy Parma January 7, 2014 at 7:01 pm

Judy from Texas. I have bought some of the PL kits, but not sure
how to get started. I scrapbook chronologically, and am VERY
behind with my 2 children’s albums and my grandson’s. I really
think the PL way of scrapbooking would help me get caught up,
and this class would help me get started. Thanks for the chance
    to win!

  37. Linda McGregor January 7, 2014 at 7:10 pm

  38. audrey January 7, 2014 at 7:10 pm

Hi from Queensland, Australia – I love cutting 3×4 fillers with my Craft Robo (Silhouette. I make them with a solid edge and welded object. They can been seen from both sides of the page and save on fillers as well as give a see through effect.

  39. Sue Alg January 7, 2014 at 7:12 pm

Sue From Wisconsin. I’m starting my third year of PL. I sometimes do traditional using the plastic pockets pages, but often I use PL templates to create 12×12 digital pages. I love using overlays either traditionally or digitally. I create at least one page every week. I think that PL is the best thing ever. I’ve scrapping for over 20 years and I think PL and pockets pages and/or digital templates is the best thing that happened to scrapbooking.

  47. Robin Gibson January 8, 2014 at 6:20 am

I am SO in love with Pocket Page scrapping! Super easy, super simple! I think my favorite technique is just not over-thinking it, does that count? I’m trying to catch up the last few weeks of the year, to get started with this new year, and the overiding theme for me just now, is git her done, lol. I still love it. I still have soooo many photos. It’s all good, and it’s all going in! Pictures, a few bits of journaling, and shazam! A whole year documented!
I would love to have a chance to check out True Scrap for this:) Thank You!

  48. ana roat January 8, 2014 at 6:59 am

Hi Kerri-I’m starting my 4th year for PL and still love it just as much as I did in the beginning. What I love most is that I don’t need to stress over too many pictures and details or too few for that matter. The ability to use different sized page protectors works so well for me. I also like the freedom that comes with simple one week and fancy the next. And talk about all the lovely choices for core kits and add-ons….what’s not to love!

  55. Karen Antczak January 8, 2014 at 10:48 am

I’m Karen from Lafayette, Indiana. I just started really doing PL this year. I’ve tried in the past but am just too busy to keep at it with a daily photo and weekly spread. I’m having the best luck though with using PL pages as events come up. I have a two page PL spread for Thanksgiving, Christmas tree hunting, my daughters school dance, etc. I don’t stress over the weekly organizing and better yet, am staying current this way! It used to take me a whole weekend for a single page layout and I was getting so behind with traditional scrapping. PL has put me in a really good scrappy frame of mind! Thanks for the chance at the give away. Your the best!

  56. Cindy Brooks January 8, 2014 at 1:54 pm

    from beautiful NW Montana!

I’ve been thinking hard about a PL project this year, too! I really need to get some memory pages done instead of my photos languishing in a box and the memories fading in my brain. When I want to scrap simply I just use textured cardstock with a simple cut title and handwritten journaling.

I love Project Life, and I would just love to be able to attend this class! My favorite technique is adding interactive flip pockets to both 4×6 and 3×4 to add extra photos and stuff. I am looking forward to using some of the new pockets sizes this year, like the 4×4. Thanks so much for the chance to win!

I love to do things in batches on my PL pages. Place a bunch of photos, place a bunch of cards, journal on cards, embellish, then move on to next section. If I do it in batches, it works out faster for me.

  86. Lynne Kramwr January 8, 2014 at 5:47 pm

This sounds great! I live in Colorado Springs, CO. I like to stick to just two maybe three embellishment types for a week. Make me not get lost in choices and also brings things together design- wise. Thanks for te chance to win!

  90. Julie January 8, 2014 at 6:00 pm

Im Julie in New Zealand and I am getting back to basics this year with my scrapbooking. I found I was getting a little overwhelmed with product and I lost the true meaning of scrapping to me! Project Life style layouts are ideal, lots of photos and JOURNALLING!!

  91. Nashonne January 8, 2014 at 6:22 pm

I have been a PL girl since Becky introduced it in here project 365 kit in 2009. Because I don’t like “traditional” scrapbooking my trips (I take hundreds of pictures, too many to chose from)I use PL to document all the places my family has traveled to.

  99. Kristen January 8, 2014 at 10:08 pm

Hi. I’m Kristen from Rochester, New York. This class sounds like just the thing I need to get going with Project Life! I have all the supplies but just can’t seem to get started. I was drawn to PL because of its simplicity and the pockets allow you to easily add things to your album that you may want to take out to look at (brochures, programs). This is the perfect solution for me to document my kids school years.

  100. Kristiann January 8, 2014 at 10:15 pm

  102. Jenny Rosen January 8, 2014 at 11:35 pm

Hi. I’m Jenny from Tucson. I have been very intimidated by scrapbooking, cards are how I got started. I’m looking for easier way to ease in, thinking project life or less elaborate ways is a good way to get started.

  103. Lisa H January 9, 2014 at 1:33 am

I’m new to the whole pocket page thing but I really like how easy it is to just use the photos I have rather than worrying about cropping down or printing out in different sizes. I just use the size of the pockets and that’s it. Makes it a lot quicker. This is a great giveaway!

    Beth R
Freezing my rear off in Michigan

I LOVE the PL idea, I have managed to “collect” many of the core kits. Those stinkin’ cards are all so adorable.
BUT……just can not figure out how to start !!!
I don’t know why I’m stuck , I think my life is so ordinary and repetitive that I really don’t have anything to document. I mean how many dog, laundry and snow photos can you document? I have no small children, live alone and work full time. Dull as watching paint dry. Thinking of doing one for my college age daughter who has soooo much going on.
I NEED this class, really need it.

  108. Deneen January 9, 2014 at 9:13 am

I love project life scrapping but need some serious ideas so that I can actually finish an album LOL. I have printed a 12×12 photo and cut it up to fill a spread and I love it!

  109. Betsy Jay January 9, 2014 at 3:42 pm

2014 is going to be a bold year for me in learning to use my new Cameo and trying to incorporate mixed media into my layouts. I am a font fanatic and love the new scripted brushstroke font I am seeing everywhere. My word of choice is “Daughter”. The love of my life:)
