I love this time of year.
Spring is on its way.
You wait every day for more and more green to appear in the grass and in the trees. I even have new iris shoots coming up. Love seeing any and every sign of green.
It’s a refreshing color, isn’t it? All those many shades are just ever-so lovely. It makes me think of Ireland too. I bought my daughter a t-shirt when we were there several years ago that said ‘Ireland. 40 Shades of Green.’ And it had 40 different colored shamrocks laid out in a grid. And for those of you from Ireland or have been to Ireland can completely resonate with that statement.
I loved that shirt.
I love Ireland.
So is it any wonder why I start thinking about it around this time of year. Must have something to do with March 17. St. Patricks’s Day. The luck of the Irish and all.
But ’round these parts, you don’t have to be Irish to be lucky. ‘Round these parts, we are celebrating a very long weekend–through Monday, St. Patrick’s Day, with just a wee bit of a sale.
And in case you were wondering, yes, that does include classes too. :)
But that’s not all my fine friends.
We are so lucky to have such an amazing creative team here in the land of KBS. Lucky to see their amazing talent every month. And I thought it only fitting that we celebrate our Lucky 17 sale with some fabulous work from these wonderful ladies.
So let’s take a look at what Layle has to share!
So many goodies! And I love the idea of adhering an element (observations) to a piece of acetate! I’m thinking to myself, ‘Duh! Why didn’t I think of that???‘
Here’s what Layle has to say:
Kerri’s ‘You Got This’ printable was the inspiration for my Week 8 Pocket Page spread. After 13 years, we’re remodeling our house – new carpet, new paint, tile, refinishing the hardwood floors, etc. If you’ve ever been through a remodel, the term ‘you got this’ is so appropriate; living with the chaos for weeks on end is tough, but it will be so worth it when it’s done!! I cut the ‘observations’ word, adhered to a clear piece of 3×4 acetate and then inserted in the pocket so it appears as if it’s floating in the pocket. I used the slider cut file as a frame for the paint samples we’d painted on the wall to test the colors and then added a clear sticker to the frame. Lastly I cut the word Sunday and adhered to one of the photos of furniture piled high in one of the rooms as we were ready for paint to start on Monday.
Lucky to have you here Layle….we all love you and you’re amazing work!
Now be sure to check in every day because you never know how lucky you may be. :)
