Scale Tool? Workin’ Cool.

There was one thing that really bothered me about the Scale tool in the previous Studio software.

It didn’t work right.

If you were to rotate a square 45 degrees and change the width, rather than it changing horizontally–from side to side, it still looked at it in that square form and would change it on the diagonal like this:

Soooooo frustrating!

But now? If you change the width of a rotated square, you know what you get?

A diamond shape! Yahoo!

I’m beyond thrilled that Scale now works as it should!

elated.

truly.

On that note, have a wonderful weekend! :)

Oh that is exciting! I had heard a lot of complaints about the new version, and downloaded it without realizing everything had changed. I was worried, and didn’t even touch it for a couple weeks. I finally got brave yesterday, and actually it’s not so bad! I love now that all the cut settings (including choosing cut lines) can be done in one window. SO much better than having to remember to switch windows five times before cutting! Keep these posts coming of the new stuff, because I feel like in some ways, it really is a brand new program!

I have not upgraded yet. I need to do my classes and wasn’t sure if I should upgrade.

If you’re still working on classes, I would remain in the previous version if you want to have a parallel learning experience. I actually have both versions on my Mac, so I can switch between both. The newer version–second release of it–has been working okay for me, but I know it’s still got its quirkiness and other people have still been having bigger issues like the program crashing and stuff.

Eventually classes will be updated, but it’s going to take quite a bit of time. The generalness of the program does remain the same between versions though. Just some enhancements and visual differences have been added.
