Say it ain’t so!

This week has seriously gone way faster than I ever expected. I have a feeling the rest of the year is going to do the same.

Sometimes we just need to slow down our pace of life. I think I’ve been better about that this year, but I have my moments still. A little too many lately, it seems.

breathe.

Okay, that being said, we have a full day ahead! :)

Today I’m sharing a couple projects that I worked on for this week. I wish I could have made the rest that are in my head. I expect you may be seeing more from me over time. I’m not done yet. ;)

Thought I’d give the box from Boxed Up  a little decor makeover using the gold vinyl and a handwritten word. To place the vinyl, I used a small piece of transfer tape. I might use a slightly larger one next time because the vinyl is floppier than it seems. I wasn’t sure how the tape would react to the cardstock either.

I also printed a little ‘It’s Your Birthday’ to go along with Heck Yes (which is a freebie you can get HERE). I also wanted the Heck Yes to be slightly thicker, so I added a .03″ internal and external offset and then welded it together. If you want to know how to thicken handwritten words, read this post.

And then finally, I made my white paint and postal paper tag. This is one of those things that has been in my mind to do for months now. Seriously.

It’s using a tag shape that will be coming out in a kit soon.

To make it, I cut a ‘stencil’ out of cardstock and found some obliging paint and foam brush. To create the stencil, type your words over the top half of the tag. I wanted mine to be larger than the tag so that it extended ‘off the page’, so to speak.

I used some repositionable adhesive (Herma) and tacked the tag to a piece of paper. I slid and tacked down a small piece of cardstock between the tag halves so that when I painted it, it wouldn’t go onto the bottom half. Next, I adhered the stencil on top.

I painted the letters, without putting it on too thick. I didn’t want it to dry and stick, so I peeled off the stencil while it still had a smidgen of tackiness.

Add a ‘handmade reinforcement’ (aka, a silhouette cut set of circles) and a little twine and voila! You’re done!
