CHARLENE – DECEMBER 9, 2014 – 3:07 PM

Congratulations! Email me at kerri@kerribradford.com and I’ll get you all hooked up.

And I have to say it was delightful reading all of your coolest or out-of-the-box kits. A lot of it was a trip down Memory Lane. And Kim? Giving theĀ Captain Caveman videos to your kids? Oh my heck! I had to tell my girls about him. That one cracked me up.

  12. Terri Y. December 11, 2014 at 4:29 am

I love to be with my family. At every gathering I give everyone the same prop (Santa Clause, pumpkin, Easter bunny) as they come in and I take their picture with that item. When I go back and look at my pictures, I can see who was with us at that particular celebration. Its nice to see who was with us and who has passed and remember those times spent with loved ones and new friends.

  13. karen k December 11, 2014 at 4:49 am

My favorite Christmas tradition is making cookies. Love all of the different kinds and shapes and colors!

  14. Andrea D. December 11, 2014 at 4:57 am

My favorite family Christmas tradition is going to the mountains to cut down our own Christmas tree. The whole family (our kids are young adults now) goes on the 3 hour drive to find the perfect tree. We spend less than an hour picking our tree and then drive 3 hours home, but we love it. It’s nice to just be together.

  15. Kelly Ousley December 11, 2014 at 5:00 am

We have a huge group (37) that is mostly made up of friends that have become family and we go to the Japanese Steak House on Christmas Eve. Lot’s of laughs, fellowship, and great food. So fun and special!!!

  16. Jennifer December 11, 2014 at 5:06 am

Thanks for the 12 Days of Freebies, the designs have been great! My favorite part of Christmas is sitting in the twinkle of the lights and reading the Christmas story from the Bible. It just seems to take you back to the time when Jesus was born and the wonder of it all!

We have so many that it’s hard to choose. But I guess it’s game night on Christmas Eve. It’s usually pretty hilarious.

  20. Sandy December 11, 2014 at 5:26 am

We play Bingo for prizes every Christmas night. My dad’s large family used to get together at a firehouse each year and we had so much fun. Now that we are down to just our immediate family, we have carried on the tradition with our own kids.

  25. marilyn t December 11, 2014 at 5:56 am

So many beautiful traditions to choose from! One of my all time favorites is waking up early, before anyone else in the house is up, and sitting in front of my lighted Christmas tree, with my first cup of coffee, and just thinking and praying. We won’t have a tree this year as we are traveling and I already miss it!

Getting the family in the car to look at lights. There is one street that puts out signs with the christmas story from the Bible that we go by every year. Love it!!

  33. Janell December 11, 2014 at 6:34 am

It may seem like a weird christmas tradition, but every year on CHristmas Eve we have SOS on china and candlelight. It was a tradition started by my dad when we were young, and we have continued. My own children say it wouldn’t be christmas without SOS.

  34. Michelle December 11, 2014 at 6:34 am

I love buying Christmas pj’s for my girls and giving them to them on Christmas Eve.

  35. Nashonne December 11, 2014 at 6:40 am

My favorite Christmas tradition was card night on Christmas Eve with my dad side of the family. We rotated houses each year, had tons of food, and stayed up most of the night playing cards. The one drawback, regardless of the time you got home you had to go to bed because “Santa” still had to come.

  36. Leslee December 11, 2014 at 6:47 am

We have so many, how does one choose! I guess it would be gavinf the elf visit my grandchildren. Tge same elf my daughters had over 20 years ago. A long time tradition before elf on the shelf. He is fat and jolly, not the anorexic elf you see in stores now!

  37. Lina F. December 11, 2014 at 6:47 am

We decorate the tree together then the last decoration to go on is the angel on top. That has always been done by my grandson and continues to be so. The tree is now ready to light for the season.

Our favorite Christmas tradition is new ornaments for each child and a family ornament each year. That’s 5 ornaments a year. And they are the only ornaments on our tree. Every ornament means something to us and it makes our tree special and amazing.

  44. Judy Stiles December 11, 2014 at 7:07 am

A new tradition that we have started in our family is actually a very old German tradition…hiding the pickle ornament on the Christmas tree hidden away so it’s difficult to find. The first grandchild to find it on Christmas morning gets a special treat or an extra present from Santa.

  45. Rhadonda December 11, 2014 at 7:11 am

I have a lot of faves but one I will share is my brother-in-law develops a Jeopardy style game new every year that we all play with fake money that we earn to then buy at a candy auction and rob your neighbor game. Its a lot of fun!

Getting together with family on Christmas Eve to exchange gifts.

  112. Aja C. December 11, 2014 at 10:36 am

Sad to say, but we never had any PARTICULAR Christmas traditions. There are things that we did most of the time, but nothing that sticks out that I’ve HAD to carry on into my adult life. With that being said, I fully intend to implement some traditions in the upcoming years, as I start a family of my own. When I read all the wonderful traditions that others share and the awesome memories that it brings, it makes me wish I had that (although I do have great Christmas memories, in general, and it makes me want to make sure I can offer that to myself, even at this later age, and to my children, whenever they may start to come.

  113. Nicky H December 11, 2014 at 10:39 am

Well, this year it’s all about getting back into the “Christmas Spirit”! My dad was diagnosed with brain cancer in 2010 . . . 2009 was the last Christmas that I had actually put up a Christmas tree. Yesterday was the three year anniversary of his passing and THIS year my tree is up! NEW TRADITIONS are being made! <3

  115. Melitta Ball December 11, 2014 at 10:51 am

One of my favorite Christmas traditions is my grandmother’s green, ice cream, pineapple, jello salad that graces the table only once per year! Drain the juice from a can of tidbits pineapple into a measuring cup then add water until you have 1 1/4 cups of liquid, then pour into a sauce pan & bring to boil. Pour two small packages or 1 large package of lime green jello into a large salad bowl, put into the dish a silverware tablespoon (pouring the hot liquid over the tablespoon will prevent the dish from cracking). Measure out 2 cups of vanilla ice cream. Pour pineapple juice mixture over the spoon & into the dish then stir until the Jello powder is dissolved. Add the ice cream and stir until the ice cream is all melted and mixed into the jello liquid. Put into fridge for about 15 – 20 mins, the jello should be just setting up by then, stir in the pineapple tidbits then leave in fridge to fully set. We usually make this on Christmas Eve day. Very, very yummy and has ZERO calories because calories take the month of December off because they need a vacation from being counted all year long!! LOL ;)

Thanks for another great day and freebie too!
    Big Hugs,
    Melitta

  118. Marla Lagoski December 11, 2014 at 10:56 am

When our family lived close together, our blended family always went to church, had a fabulous meal, watched Christmas movies and traveled to one side of the family or the other Christmas afternoon. Now our four kids and us all live in 5 different states and it is not feasible for us to get together. The tradition has come to buying gifts on Amazon, my wonderful husband and I having a much smaller meal, and lots of phone calling and Skypeing. Each one of our kids are married and they have kids, so it is good to see each family making their own Christmas Traditions.

  119. Tanya H December 11, 2014 at 11:04 am

My favorite tradition is taking our family photo. I get a frame ornament with the year and put our photo in it, and every year when I decorate our tree, I get teary-eyed with a trip down memory lane. It’s so wonderful watching our family grow and change through the years this way. I absolutely LOVE that we thought of it! :)

  120. Sarah WA December 11, 2014 at 11:12 am

My favorite Christmas tradition was Fondue on Christmas Eve. My mother tried so many different meals to get my sister and I to slow down eating that night, we were so excited to open presents (we opened all our family presents that night, saved the Santa ones for Christmas morn) and she finally hit on fondue, where we had to cook our dinner as we went. It worked and we learned to savor the process of sticking the meat and vegetables into the oil and then dipping them into the variety of sauces, and then getting to the gifts didn’t seem like such a huge priority. Dinner together became a gift in itself.

  121. Barbara December 11, 2014 at 11:17 am

After my husband died and there were only two of us for “Christmassing”, my son and I decided to incorporate a new tradition into our holiday season that would be just for us. Believe it or not, we watch vampire movies! Might sound strange, but it works for us. Thanks for the chance of a gift certificate. Love your ideas and products.

  122. Vicki J December 11, 2014 at 11:21 am

Favorite new tradition: My kids are adults now so making Christmas cookies at midnight Xmas eve with alittle mulled wine has become our new go to!!! Lots of laughs and some funky looking cookies the next day!

Baking cookies is my favorite tradition by far!

  130. Lorretta December 11, 2014 at 12:27 pm

We’ve started a new tradition in my house that I’m very excited about this year. My oldest son doesn’t believe in Santa Claus anymore. I thought this would be a very sad time when he stopped believing but it’s turned out to be wonderful because he has been my “Santa’s helper” this year. He’s picking out stocking stuffers, helping with presents and we’re going to work together on Christmas Eve to set up for Christmas Day. His only request is that his surprises aren’t placed under the tree until after he goes to bed. =) So fun!

  131. Jenell December 11, 2014 at 12:29 pm

My favorite Christmas tradition would be stuffing the stockings. We stuff more fun things into our grown kids’ stockings and now into our 3 granddaughters’ stockings. Anything from gift cards to kitchen gadgets to jewelry to drink stirrers, Barbie clothes, etc. Everyone looks forward to checking out their stockings – even more than other presents!

  132. SuzannaL December 11, 2014 at 12:34 pm

My favorite Christmas tradition is singing carols as a family on Christmas Eve!

Every year me and my bestie make 60 dozen cookies together. We have a ton of fun mixing, baking and maybe sometimes nipping at the bottle a wee bit :)

  135. Lori December 11, 2014 at 12:41 pm

My favorite Christmas tradition is baking cookies with my boys, using treasured family recipes from my own childhood. It’s fun to share memories of times gone past while making new ones!

  136. Sherry Froman December 11, 2014 at 12:44 pm

I love getting out the recipes we only make at Christmas. Baking and candy making with my children and now my grandchildren. Making wonderful memories.

  137. Irma W. December 11, 2014 at 12:45 pm

My favorite Christmas tradition… Every year I buy a new Christmas jigsaw puzzle and the addition to our Lego winter village. I love sitting around the table with my husband and daughter, putting it all together! Treats and hot cocoa within reach, Christmas music playing… So fun and relaxing! Merry Christmas to you, Kerri, and thanks for the freebies :)

  138. Julia December 11, 2014 at 12:47 pm

Stockings. I love all the little cool stuff in them and I like buying all the little cool stuff to put in them.

  139. Karen L. December 11, 2014 at 12:47 pm

Thanks for the chance to win. My favorite tradition is on christmas morning my husband always yells ” Let the festivities begin’. We know its time to open presents.

  140. Cathy Doerr December 11, 2014 at 12:52 pm

On Christmas Eve we make Swedish meatballs for dinner. It is a family tradition that started long before I remember.

  141. roberta December 11, 2014 at 12:52 pm

My fav tradition is giving a single gift to everyone on Jan 6 – the Epithany, when the Magi gave their gifts.
Thank you for having a giveaway and have a happy wonderful season!

  142. Sherry T. December 11, 2014 at 1:00 pm

My favorite tradition is putting up all the Christmas decorations…especially the tree…on Thanksgiving Day…after all the good food, the tree decorations would come out…Mom would always put the lights on first and then the kids could help with the ornaments…

  143. Robin P. December 11, 2014 at 1:00 pm

My favorite tradition is the Christmas Eve candle light service at my church. So pretty.

  144. Beth M December 11, 2014 at 1:08 pm

Thanks for the freebies! I like putting the fake fire video on the tv and putting together puzzles at the table while sipping hot tea and dunking Christmas cookies. Yummm!

  145. Korey December 11, 2014 at 1:15 pm

After Christmas Dinner, we gather around and play a few rousing games of catchphrase and taboo! Trust me the laughter helps work of the meal and gets us ready for dessert! I can’t wait

  146. Susan December 11, 2014 at 1:15 pm

The first Wednesday of every month is early release day from school, and we pick our grandchildren up. On the first Wednesday in December, they bring some Christmasy clothes with them and we take their picture in front of our tree to send out to our relatives as our Christmas card. We try to get some crafting time in after that, should their schedules allow, and it is a fun afternoon!

  147. Kary December 11, 2014 at 1:21 pm

A favorite tradition is opening gifts from family members who live far away (so they’ve shipped the gifts to us) on Christmas Eve. I grew up opening all the gifts on Christmas Eve, my husband’s family opened them Christmas morning, so this has been a great compromise. We live 500-1200 mies away from our families, so there are always Christmas Eve gifts!

  148. soonymary December 11, 2014 at 1:23 pm

It always feels like Christmas when I make the plum pudding and we take turns stirring the mixture…have been doing this since I was a very small child.

  149. Kendra December 11, 2014 at 1:27 pm

Clam chowder on Christmas Eve is probably our best tradition. We’ve used this recipe for a few years now. It’s amazing!

  150. Laura T. December 11, 2014 at 1:28 pm

A favorite tradition is getting out the advent calendar and letting the kids take turns opening the doors each day to hang the ornament on the little tree.

  151. Donna Hooper December 11, 2014 at 1:28 pm

Some things you don’t even realise are traditions until you decide to not do something one year and everyone says “Nana, you can’t NOT do that – its tradition”. We have lots, we are now on our own, but everyone comes here Christmas Eve, sings Christmas Carols, eats nibbles, has a couple of drinks and then bunk down on the floor on blow up mattresses, so that we can all wake up together on Christmas Morning. Full house, but fun!

  152. Darlene December 11, 2014 at 1:32 pm

Homemade fruitcake and boiled custard are the perfect Holiday treat!
    Darlene

  153. Liz Lumsden December 11, 2014 at 1:32 pm

When the kiddos were home our favorite tradition was Christmas PJs for everyone!

  154. Sandy Lewis December 11, 2014 at 1:35 pm

Our favorite tradition is opening our stockings after everyone is asleep and the gifts are under the tree. It’s peaceful, with the fire roaring the the music playing.

  155. CATHY December 11, 2014 at 1:37 pm

Thank you for your wonderful generosity! My kids are grown with kids of their own. They always have a lot of places to be with grandparents, in-laws, out-laws, you name it. So we have our Christmas Day, the Sunday after Christmas. We have finger foods since everyone is tired of big meals. The grandkids get so excited to get to open more presents. We do the same thing for Thanksgiving. I don’t care what day we celebrate the holiday as long as we are all together!

  156. Michele Clay December 11, 2014 at 1:40 pm

Ooooooo! Wonderful giveaway, Keri! Thank you! My favorite Christmas tradition is after eating our dinner, the entire family gathers for a traditional family photo. I don’t know how we can make so much fun out of it, but we do. We hold everyone in check until the last pic & then “anything goes”! Well…not anything.

  157. Raegan L December 11, 2014 at 1:44 pm

Besides opening Christmas Pajamas on Christmas Eve, we always have home made Mexican dinner of enchiladas, beans & rice. Always a family favorite.

  158. Dee Hamoen December 11, 2014 at 1:45 pm

My kids’ favourite tradition was getting new jammies and slippers on Christmas Eve. They looked forward to this as much as the gifts the next morning. I was excited to find out that now that they are grown and have their own children, they have carried on the same tradition with them!

  159. Paige December 11, 2014 at 1:51 pm

I’ve loved reading everyone’s traditions and might have to start a few new ones. Besides new Christmas jammies on Christmas Eve, I make my kids sit on the stairs and wait while I take their picture. They’re all adults now, but they’ll have to sit on the stairs Christmas morning forever, even when they have their OWN kids. Ha!

  160. Linda December 11, 2014 at 1:54 pm

I am Swedish, so every Christmas Eve we do a smorgasbord. We fix traditional Swedish dishes. We have been doing this for my whole life as a family. For at least 60 years. Have not missed one in my 51 years on this planet! Our family is growing with extended cousins etc. but is so fun and worth it! I look forward to it every year, we have a meatball rolling party because we make over 200+ meatballs! Thanks Kerri for all wonderful freebies. I wish your family a Good Yul!

  161. Allison K December 11, 2014 at 1:55 pm

Watching and finding my children rearrange the nativities. It’s not really a tradition but it happens every year.

  162. Lori Lewis December 11, 2014 at 1:55 pm

I love watching the kids waiting in the hallway for Dad to film the clock and then, when He releases them to open their stockings even though they are now 22, 20 and 18, He still does it. Even if it is 9am instead of 3am !

  163. Debbie susee December 11, 2014 at 2:09 pm

Love our late dinner with friends after our Christmas Eve service.

  164. Beth T. December 11, 2014 at 2:10 pm

My favorite Christmas tradition is eating my husband’s chicken dinner on Christmas day. He uses his mother’s recipes to make the baked chicken and dressing.

  165. Peggy W December 11, 2014 at 2:12 pm

We have special friends that we spend every Christmas Eve with. Our children are now adults and they always say that Christmas Eve is what they look forward to the most. We have definitely been blessed to have such great friends. Thank your for the giveaway. Love your blog and your style. Thanks for sharing your creativity.

  166. Traci R. December 11, 2014 at 2:14 pm

One of our favorite traditions is the advent tree I made and each day the girls love to find what’s been hidden in the boxes…they are 16 and 18 now…and still love it!!

  167. RPomeroy December 11, 2014 at 2:18 pm

    Hosting a caroling party.

  168. Brandy J December 11, 2014 at 2:21 pm

Mine is that we all read our cards to each other aloud.

  169. rita timmons December 11, 2014 at 2:28 pm

we host a hayride around our neighborhood to look at Christmas lights. it’s a lot of fun!

  170. Cheryl P December 11, 2014 at 2:33 pm

My favorite tradition was taking the kids to look at the Christmas lights on Christmas eve. Daddy would always say ‘Go get in the car, I’ll be right there.’

The 3 girls and I would pile in the car, and pretty soon daddy would come out and we’d go for a drive. When we got home, we would discover that Santa had been there delivering gifts…we always ‘just missed’ him ;)

  171. JoAnn Valderama December 11, 2014 at 2:35 pm

We spend Christmas Eve night at my aunt’s house and there’s someone who dresses up like Santa that gives out Santa presents. It’s awesome because the littlest kids really think he’s real! Awesome tradition. :)

  172. Bev M December 11, 2014 at 2:49 pm

Our favorite tradition is a gingerbread house making competition…guys against the girls. Lots of good nature “trash” talking and a ton of fun. It has gotten more fun the older the kids have gotten, and is a great way to get the teens in the house involved in some Christmas activities with the family.

  173. Paula R December 11, 2014 at 2:56 pm

I have to say gathering all the family together on Christmas morning to open presents. Now that we have three grandchildren, that makes it all the special.

  174. Daniela Dobson December 11, 2014 at 2:56 pm

Christmas pajamas on Christmas Eve and each opening an ornament.

  175. Sue A December 11, 2014 at 3:15 pm

One of my favorite traditions is watching the movie “Christmas Vacation” every Christmas Eve! The whole family looks forward to it! Thanks for the chance to win!

  176. Suze December 11, 2014 at 3:18 pm

My favourite Christmas tradition is our family time on Christmas eve – we have a traditional hot Christmas dinner (and it’s really hot here in Australia) with the a/c followed by Christmas puddding for dessert. My husband reads “The Night Before Christmas” and we put out treats for Santa. And then we read the account for Jesus birth from Luke and focus on the gift of the Saviour and what we can gift to the Saviour. It’s a special night for our whole family and we all love it.

  177. Kerry December 11, 2014 at 3:28 pm

I love celebrating the 25 days leading up to Christmas with my mister by giving him a small gift each day. They’re all under the tree in the same paper and sometimes I label them by day with the help of my Silhouette. Such a fun tradition!

  178. Mary Ann Fry December 11, 2014 at 3:35 pm

Drink eggnog while listening to Christmas music.

  179. Laura E December 11, 2014 at 3:38 pm

Oh my favorite Christmas tradition is my Hubby and I buy cards for each other (or I make some) and each year we add more and more cards. We really like the funny ones, but always have several mushy cards in the mix. I love that he will fill out each one with a simple but beautiful message.

  180. Carla Hundley December 11, 2014 at 3:43 pm

We always had a church program
    on Christmas Eve and everyone
    received a small white candle
    with a cardboard ring around
it to keep the hot wax off
your hand. They were lit while
in the church and then we all
tried to get to the car without
the wind blowing then out! Had
    to walk so slow sometime!
    Carla from Utah

  181. Ruth G December 11, 2014 at 3:45 pm

My favorite Christmas tradition is running around for two days straight visiting as much of our families as we can! Honestly, it’s the best time filled with love and laughter, wonderful food and wonderful memories!
I don’t plan much for the days before or after so that we’re ready for the big event and the kids have grown up with this so they’re OK.
Thanks so much for the chance to win!

  182. Maria December 11, 2014 at 4:07 pm

My favorite Christmas tradition is Christmas Eve we open one present- normally new Pjs to sleep in to look good for Santa, lol and then Christmas morning we sing Happy Birthday to Jesus and have cake for breakfast!

  183. Cannycrafter December 11, 2014 at 4:19 pm

    Baking mince pies!

  184. Peggy F December 11, 2014 at 4:38 pm

Lining the driveway with the Luminaries. They are so pretty when the are all lit.
Also, making homemade Tom & Jerry batter. Nothing like a Hot Toddy on a cold Winter’s night.

  185. Melanie A. December 11, 2014 at 4:46 pm

Stockings are big in our family. We always save them for last. When my niece was born, my mom and dad lived in a different state so we had to do “Christmas” on a day other than 12/25. Well we ALL know Santa fills stocking so we couldn’t of course do stockings after 12/25!! So from then on we traded out stockings for gift bags at my parents house. Same premise, we put all kinds of silly or useful (small gift cards etc.) things in them and we save them for last and have a blast going through them. My niece is now 25 but we never went back. Hubby and I use regular stockings, but I like that we kept our tradition the same at my parents.

  186. Karen P December 11, 2014 at 4:52 pm

One of my favorite Christmas traditions is making sherbet punch on Christmas Eve and snacking on all kinds of goodies.

  187. Debbie Standard December 11, 2014 at 4:53 pm

My favorite Christmas tradition is going to Christmas Eve services and singing the Christmas hymns, then coming home and letting the kids open one gift. After they have gone to bed we bring out the presents and the Santa gifts. Christmas morning my husband gets up early – puts on Christmas carols, lays out Grandma’s cookies and let the fun begin!

  188. Cassie December 11, 2014 at 4:56 pm

Favorite family tradition is Christmas Eve cooking and baking before the family party marathon deliveries. I normally cook a Portuguese sausage sweet bread stuffing, butter mochi, lilikoi chiffon pie and a few other desserts to be taken to all the family house parties we have to attend.

    Mele Kailikimaka (Merry Christmas)!

  189. Kathy Williams December 11, 2014 at 4:59 pm

Gathering the family around on Christmas eve, having a nice dinner. Then opening presents with the grandkids and then everyone sitting down and watching Christmas Vacation!

  190. Tammy Davis December 11, 2014 at 5:08 pm

My favorite tradition is getting the tree out the day after Thanksgiving and getting my (mostly) handmade ornaments out and remembering where they came from! Thanks for the chance to win!

  191. Nancy December 11, 2014 at 5:12 pm

Love putting out all of the nativities. We have a huge collection and I love every one of them.

  192. Tina Hartung December 11, 2014 at 5:17 pm

My favorite Christmas tradition is the unpacking and decorating of the tree. There is just something magical about seeing your favorite ornaments and sitting back after you’re done gazing at the beautiful lights with a mug of hot cocoa in your hands!

  193. Robin Walston December 11, 2014 at 5:21 pm

Great giveaways and freebies. Thanks for sharing.

  194. Carrie Sexton December 11, 2014 at 5:22 pm

I have a Christmas tag making night with my girlfriends. We have lots of fun creating tags and drinking wine! This was our 3rd year.

  195. Misty Morgan December 11, 2014 at 5:24 pm

Every year we exchange Christmas bags. Each one goes shopping and buys whatever tickles their fancy and places each one wrapped inside of a large black bag. After our family dinner is over we gather around the family room and pick numbers. Starting with #1 each person picks a bag. Then the first person gets to open their bag and so on. After everyone has opened their bags they can trade with each other if they like. Everybody’s happy in the end and they have lots of fun sharing with each other. After that we gather around the table to play a game called Rummikub Lots of fun family time.

  196. Kathy H December 11, 2014 at 5:36 pm

One of my favorite traditions is our cookie decorating party and swap. We all bring 4 dozen undecorated cookies, spend the day dressing those babies up to their festive best and them go home with 4 dozen assorted beauties for sharing. So much fun!!!

  197. Barbara D. December 11, 2014 at 5:36 pm

Every year I work with Santa’s Elves to bring St. Nickolas gifts to my grandsons on December 6th. Each package includes a letter from Santa, p.j.s, a book and a Lego Advent calendar.

  198. Kimberly O. December 11, 2014 at 5:58 pm

My favorite Christmas tradition is relatively new. I love going to my husband’s grandma’s house on Christmas Day. We alternate whose parents get us for the “actual” holiday, and we’ve only been married 9 years. It is pure chaos there with all the kids and whatnot. His grandma makes a wicked homemade wine. Realistically, it’s probably grape flavored moonshine. A little juice glass is enough to put heat in your face. She just turned 96 this past October and still lives on her own. Go Grandma!!

  199. Linda Craig December 11, 2014 at 6:00 pm

We always have a yule log for Christmas food wise. My husband reads the Christmas story and then we open presents alternating. Love the Christmas lights.

  200. Margot Perry December 11, 2014 at 6:12 pm

Every Christmas Holiday my family plays Mahjong, as it’s the only time of year we are all together. Now my 7 year old knows how to play, so 3 generations get yo dig together a play for hours!

  201. deb pereira December 11, 2014 at 6:30 pm

riding the santa train with my kids and now my grandkids!

  202. Julie December 11, 2014 at 6:33 pm

My kids are all in their twenties. This year has been a crazy one for us because we had son leave on a mission on November 5th, and we’re preparing for another to leave on December 17th. I thought we could skip some of the traditions and keep it very simple this year. My 22 year old (who is still at home) has asked me everyday when we were going to hang the stockings and put up the countdown tree. I guess you never outgrow traditions. Last night I finally gave up and put them up. I’m surprised how excited they all were. We’re trying to make this a Christ centered Christmas, but we evidently still need to bring back childhood memories!

  203. Carol F. December 11, 2014 at 6:36 pm

My favorite Christmas tradition is going out with my family to cut down our Christmas tree.

  204. Susan W December 11, 2014 at 6:36 pm

Hi – thanks for doing the fun 12 days of Christmas! My fav tradition was driving in the neighborhood to check out the lights on Christmas Eve. My Mom would always have a headache and wouldn’t come, but we went and looked at all the lights and had hot chocolate and a fun time. We couldn’t wait to get back to tell her about it, and when we got home – Santa had been at our house and left presents under the tree and the stockings were full! She would be there explaining while she was resting her heard noise on the roof and it woke her up and when she came down, Santa was just heading up the chimney. We believed her every year – and funny, we didn’t catch on for many years! Miss those special times!

  205. Julie December 11, 2014 at 6:36 pm

    Kerri,
My favorite Christmas tradition is loading everyone in the car and going to look at all the Christmas lights in the neighborhoods. I love watching the wonderful of children and how the light shows their wonder.

    Julie

thanks for the chance to win.

  206. vicki December 11, 2014 at 6:38 pm

Thank you for the awesome files! One of my favorite holiday traditions is opening our home to anyone in our neighborhood who doesn’t have family in town. We usually have at least three families for our Christmas dinner and many more stop in for dessert. I love having a full house on Christmas! And since we live too far away from our own families to go home, it is a gift we give ourselves as well.

  207. Kathy Nelson December 11, 2014 at 6:40 pm

Thank you for the awesome freebies! We celebrate my oldest son’s birthday on Christmas Eve, watch National Lampoon’s Christmas vacation in the evening and exchange gifts on Christmas Day.

  208. Gilda December 11, 2014 at 6:43 pm

We have many traditions for Christmas, but I must say I enjoy getting out all the decorations each year. They bring back memories of Christmas past and I love sharing them with my grandkids now.

  209. kathy December 11, 2014 at 6:49 pm

oh what joy!!! my favorite tradition is having dinner on christmas day with our family. i hope that everyone this year can celebrate at least one tradition that they love.

My favorite Christmas tradition is making gingerbread houses with my kids. Thanks for the chance to win!

  211. Melanie S December 11, 2014 at 7:12 pm

One of my favorite traditions is going to my grandparents house on Christmas Eve. I’ve been going their for 38 years. Through the years some have joined us, some have passed on. It was grandpa, grandma, great grandma, aunts, uncles, mom, dad, brothers, sister and cousins. Now the cousins grew up and they are married and have their own children. Brothers that have married with have children. My own children. There’s usually 40 of us. We make a big meal, open gifts, tell stories, take lots of pictures.

  214. Christina C December 11, 2014 at 7:46 pm

We love to take our children out and get a new Christmas ornament every year. I also love baking Christmas cookies & candies with them!

  215. Kelly H December 11, 2014 at 7:48 pm

My favorite Christmas tradition is that we decorate the tree on my birthday, (today the 11th) and then reading a new or favorite Christmas story on Christmas eve with new pajamas for the kids, and just seeing their smiles on Christmas morning.

  216. Amy Ulen December 11, 2014 at 7:54 pm

One of my favorite traditions is that the youngest hands out one gift at a time starting with the oldest member of the family. We take turns watching each other open gifts. It takes a long time, but it really allows us to thank the gift giver. I always run out of presents first, but it doesn’t matter, because I so enjoy watching my family open their gifts!

  217. Traci Severson December 11, 2014 at 7:57 pm

Our Christmas tradition begins on Christmas Eve with homemade pizza (or if there isn’t time, pizza from our fav pizza joint) and the kids open one gift. Christmas morning the kids get us out of bed, we open up our gifts and then we spend the day together gorging ourselves on our fav foods and napping. Our families are all half way across the country and we haven’t spent a Christmas with them in years unfortunately, so this little tradition we have going is one I’m sure the kids will take with them. Merry Christmas! And thank you for the freebies!!!!! They are awesome!

  218. Megan K. December 11, 2014 at 7:58 pm

My favorite tradition was spending time with family. I miss this more now that I live far away from my family and haven’t spent Christmas with them in four years :(

  219. Justene December 11, 2014 at 8:37 pm

My favourite Christmas tradition is spending Christmas Eve at home with my family – watching Christmas movies together, and singing Christmas carols while my husband plays guitar. It just doesn’t get any better than that! Thanks so much for the chance to win! Merry Christmas! xoxo

  220. alice fuller December 11, 2014 at 8:41 pm

Our favorite tradition is going to 11pm Christmas Eve service and coming out at midnight with bells ringing.

  221. Torrie December 11, 2014 at 8:41 pm

My favorite tradition growing up was our family performance of the Nativity. We usually had a younger sibling that could be the baby Jesus and we dressed in our robes and towels on our heads while dad read from the bible. It was awesome.

  222. Karen Peterson December 11, 2014 at 9:01 pm

Love Christmas pajamas ;) for my kiddos even though they are not so little anymore.

  223. terry December 11, 2014 at 9:02 pm

Thanks for opportunity to win! A favorite tradition of ours is to put up the nativity and the Little Town of Bethlehem. We love our display of the real reason for the season!

Church on Christmas Eve & taking candles to cemetery on Christmas Eve.

  227. Renee T. December 11, 2014 at 9:35 pm

Giving out a “best decorated house” award with our grandkids at night – usually a bag of holiday m&ms or hershey kisses. We drive around listening to Christmas music, until we decide on the best decorated house. We love this tradition!

  228. Lara Read December 11, 2014 at 9:49 pm

My favorite tradition is buying a new ornament for the kids each year. then when we decorate the tree they say oh i remember this. I got it cause it reminds me of getting my drivers licence that year or some event in their life. so fun. The darth vader and steve young ornaments are not that cute but the bring back memories :)

  229. barbara santee December 11, 2014 at 9:53 pm

Making cookies for our yearly cookie exchange. All our close friends get together for dinner and drinks. Then we pass around the cookies we’ve made. Great way to come home with 6 different type of cookies when you only had to make one type. Plus this year I made the “Jingle all the way” picture for all the ladies. Wonderful idea for gift giving. Thanks for all you do. I really appreciate all the wonderful things you create.

  230. Denise Bryant December 11, 2014 at 9:56 pm

I bake several different kinds of cookies and then deliver to friends and neighbors just before Christmas!

  231. Nita K. December 11, 2014 at 10:05 pm

  236. Tracy December 11, 2014 at 10:22 pm

My favorite Christmas Tradition has been going to get Santa pictures with the kids. We love looking at all of them and how much they have changed thru the years. Now they are grown so we don’t go each year but still enjoy looking at them and laughing at the ones where the kids were afraid of Santa.

  237. Janice Daquila-Pardo December 11, 2014 at 10:34 pm

One of our favorite Christmas traditions is to gather in front of the tree on Christmas Eve to read a Christmas book or story as a family. In the past, my dad used to read longer stories to us over several evenings, finishing the story on Christmas Eve. Such great memories!

  238. RobinKP December 11, 2014 at 10:35 pm

I wrap up 25 christmas books and the kids open one each night. We all look forward to bedtime and our book.

  239. Monique Morales December 11, 2014 at 11:05 pm

Hi Kerri. This will be my first Christmas without my Mom, so it will be a hard one. I lost her in September. She was Swedish so we’ve always had a Swedish dinner on Christmas Eve. it always made me feel special. We have Swedish meatballs (I have to make 10 lbs.), herring, pickled beets, Silta (pork), rice pudding, and raisin bread. We will continue this tradition to honor our heritage, and maybe feel a little closer to my Mom. Take care, Kim :)

  243. Melanie Sherman December 12, 2014 at 12:08 am

We don’t celebrate Christmas. We celebrate Hanukkah. I love the ritual of saying the prayers and lighting the candles every night for eight nights. One of our traditions for the holiday is making homemade latkes (potato pancakes) and serving them with sour cream. The smell of the potatoes frying in oil permeates my house for day, but it makes me happy!

  244. Lois December 12, 2014 at 12:24 am

My favorite tradition is spending relaxed and uninterrupted time with our family! Watching a family favorite Christmas episode of All Creatures Great and Small together, enjoying our version of “Christmas Cake” or simply putting together a puzzle by the crackling fire place as it snows outside – its all just wonderful!

  245. Veronica Miller December 12, 2014 at 4:26 am

I do a Lego Star Wars advent calendar with my boys every year. THey love it.

  246. Jeannie D December 12, 2014 at 5:10 am

My favorite tradition is baking the Christmas goodies. It started out with my Mom, then my daughter and hopefully my granddaughter in a year or two!

  247. Chris H December 12, 2014 at 6:06 am

My favorite tradition is setting up our many nativity sets around our home. Thanks for the free downloads!

  248. Janet Trapp December 12, 2014 at 6:25 am

Awesome! Thanks for all the great gifts!

  249. Ellie Augustin December 12, 2014 at 7:00 am

For us on Christmas eve we all get into our Christmas pajamas and head to my mother in laws house around 8 pm and help finish up the rest of the last bits to get ready for Christmas day. While having Hot cocoa and treats and listening to Christmas music. We all stay up till Midnight and then we all take turns (from youngest to oldest) singing a Christmas song to open one gift. It is SO fun to see the kids singing (although by the end they all end up singing the same song) and then the adults and we know which song each one will sing EVERY year lol… Oh I can’t wait! This will be the first year for our sweet youngest as last year she was too tiny (she was a preemie) for us to venture out late in the evening! So you could say this is going to be her 1st official Christmas with our extended family!! Can’t wait!

  250. Dawn Howells December 12, 2014 at 7:46 am

My favorite Christmas tradition is the decorating. I love to decorate. Period. But Christmas decorating has always been special. And, this year’s decorating, my first without my husband, has been extra special as I bring out each decoration, remembering how/why/where we got it, etc. Lots of memories…all of them good!

  251. Chris December 12, 2014 at 8:01 am

My favorite tradition would be putting up the nativity. My mother and grandmother had them when I was younger and I always wanted one of my own. Now I finally have one and look forward to joining the family tradition. It is a true reminder of the reason for the season. Thanks for another outstanding giveaway and fabulous year of your files, Kerri! Happy Holidays to you and yours!

  252. Judy R December 12, 2014 at 8:29 am

A super easy Rum cake one Christmas has turned into a “tradition” and is the most often requested thing ever! I should make two!

  253. Judy Parma December 12, 2014 at 8:56 am

My daughter works for our local fire department, we spend a full day and sometimes two, baking goodies for her to give to all the firefighters. This has become one of my favorite traditions, just spending time with her and thanking the firefighters for all that they do. Thanks Kari, for all the freebies and the chance to win. Happy Holidays!

  254. Sharee December 12, 2014 at 9:09 am

Love all of the freebies Kerri but most of all love everything you do. I love your style! Thanks for sharing with me!

  255. LynneB December 12, 2014 at 9:17 am

My favorite Christmas tradition is decorating the tree. I love the memories all the ornaments bring as we unpack them and put them on the tree.

  256. Alice Wong December 12, 2014 at 9:51 am

Well Christmas isn’t that huge in our Asian household. We do still do stockings….by a fireplace we don’t really use….but “Santa” always puts in a red pocket (more used around the Chinese New Year Holiday) with a little Christmas money. Gotta love Santa!

  257. kelly thompson December 12, 2014 at 11:50 am

my fave tradition has yet to be started- I would like to go on a family cruise each year

  258. Rebekah December 12, 2014 at 12:01 pm

My favorite Christmas tradition (at least for the past 3 years) has to be the daily visit from our Elf on the Shelf. Every day from December 1st to December 24th he appears and each year he gets more and more creative and entertaining! It brings joy to my 2 boys and to my husband and I! Merry Christmas! Thanks for the great freebies and for the chance to win the gift certificate!

  259. Janelle December 12, 2014 at 12:45 pm

I love baking lots of different types of cookies to leave on a plate for Santa.

  260. Lorinda L December 12, 2014 at 1:09 pm

My favorite Christmas tradition my parents actually started – and that’s giving me an ornament each and every year. At 50 years young now, that means a lot to have these gifts that give me joy every year, helps me remember special events along the way and to just cherish on my tree!

  261. Tara Mayol December 12, 2014 at 3:27 pm

We treat ourselves with a Peppermint Mocha from Starbucks and ride around looking at Christmas lights.

  262. Cherri December 12, 2014 at 5:03 pm

Love the tradition of singing carols at church and with the family.

  263. Cathy R December 12, 2014 at 5:11 pm

My favorite tradition is seeing my ADULT children with their Christmas stockings. This year I gave them the option of getting cash instead. All three of my children, two sons and a daughter, all chose to continue getting a stocking. That did this mama’s heart good! They know good things come in small packages. Now, my daughters-in-law…they want the money! LOL!

Thank you for the freebies and the chance to win! It’s been fun reading about other’s fav traditions, too.

  264. Janelle December 12, 2014 at 6:29 pm

Drinking hot chocolate while we drive around to look at Christmas lights!

  265. Louise Fortune December 13, 2014 at 11:00 am

Got to be opening our sticking gifts after a big traditional festive lunch. It extends the gift giving and gives the kids a little more to look forward to. Each member of the family wraps a small gift, one for each stocking except your own.
