This little ‘go’ is probably one of the most asked about items ever since I made my Florida album. It may be simple, but I think there’s something about that ‘g’.

I love this little guy.

I hope you’ll get a lot of use out of it for all your summer activities!

A Mixed Medley of Alphabet Goodness

May 21st, 2015|laura vegas, pages|

There’s nothing I love more than a mix of words on a page…well, except maybe a mix of words in different mediums on a page.

And Laura’s page today is a fine example of all that!

Love that she used those super large foam stickers. I may or may not have had a hand in designing those way forever ago when I was with Creating Keepsakes. ;)

Add in layers of handwritten cut words?

sigh.

Let’s see what Laura has to say:

A week or two ago, I saw Kerri share a photo on Instagram of these 4″ foam alphas that she designed for a kit years and years ago. She mentioned that she felt like she should pull them out and use them, and that some things never go out of style. And she’s right. Those alphas are still amazing, years later. And I still happen to have two sets of them, so I thought it would be fun to incorporate them into my next layout for her. I love a big and bold title, but knew that I’d have to keep it fairly short, since the 4″ letters did fill up the page more than I thought once I laid a few out.

I’ve had these photos of my youngest daughter, Sarah, in mind for a layout for at least the past year. I knew some sort of “game face” title would work great, so I collaged the photos together using a template from Kerri’s Storyboard #8 kit, and sized the collage to fit below my title. I cut the word “face” from Kerri’s Oh Baby kit, keeping it on the smaller side, so that I could layer it right over my foam letters. I also cut the word “hilarious” from Kerri’s Something To Say #2 kit, because I do in fact think that Sarah’s “game face” (or faces) is pretty hilarious.

I also used a star cluster from Kerri’s Stars & Stripes kit. I sized it to almost 12″ in length, and tucked it under the striped patterned paper to turn it into a border. I ran the yellow bottom layer of the star die cut thru a dotted embossing folder, before adhering the black piece on top.

Fabulous, sweet thing!

nsd-2015-mini

Wow! This week has blown by and we have finally arrived at (inter)National Scrapbook Day! It has been a glorious week here with so much inspiration from so many talented girls.

A little bit ago I was ‘listening’ to Night At The Museum 2 on tv while I was working–one of my favorite movies. ‘Are we going to the opera? I don’t think so.’

At one point, Amy Adams (aka, Amelia Earhart) says to Ben Stiller (aka, Larry Daley).

‘I don’t want to miss a moment.’

It was a phrase that stuck out to me as if she’d shouted it right in my ear.

Shouldn’t we all live our lives as if we never wanted to miss a moment? Living it to the fullest and enjoying every little thing?

I knew I needed to make something with it.

So have fun this card and keep it as a little motto for yourself…

never miss a moment.

And enjoy the heck out of this weekend!

One more thing, today is the last day of our sale extravaganza that’s been happening all this week!

Buy any class and save 20% (excluding Custom Made). Use code NSDCLASS at checkout.

You can check out all the classes HERE.

And then here are some fabulous combos using just the Oh Yeah set. Which, by the way, is named because pretty much all the verbiage on here you can say oh yeah to. :)

I love me some words and alphas…if’n ya couldn’t tell. ;)

Now let’s move on to another fun treat. Here’s some gorgeousness from Miss Layle, who is using stamps from previous releases (in digital form). AWEsoooome!

[ Designs | Heart Backgrounds. Digital Stamps | One Fine Day (I love…, Wonderful, + Today)

ahhhhhh…

tiny details all over the place.

love how she set patterned paper into the hearts.

adore.

Let’s hear what Layle has to say:

I’ve been wanting to play around with a large die cut background for a while and thought Kerri’s heart background would be a fun one to play with! I wanted my hearts to be a bit larger, so I increased the scale to 150% After I cut the design, I used tiny scissors to cut away some of the hearts so I’d have full hearts all the way around. I then used one of the insides of the hearts for a template and cut hearts out of patterned paper. I used a 6×6 pad for the papers – that way I didn’t waste a full sheet of 12×12 paper and the pattern was scaled to size. In a few cases I used the white heart that was cut out from the background to ‘fill’ the die cut hearts; using pop dots to adhere them makes them stand out.

I created the little ‘stamped’ word strips using the One Fine Day Digital Stamps. I changed the size to fit what I needed, printed them out, and voila! That’s one of the things I love about using digital ‘stamps’ – you can manipulate them to whatever size (and color!) you need :)

Such a lovely page Layle!

And now let’s do another great giveaway!

We’re giving away a stamp set of your choice to three lucky people!

If you’re outside the U.S., it will be the digital version. That way everyone can play. :) And the more you do in this list, the more chances you have to win….just sayin’. ;)

Good luck to all!
