I sure love the holidays. Receiving gifts is fun, but giving gifts is where the magic really is. The don’t say it’s better to give than receive for nothin’.
It’s plain and simply true.
Big or small, family or friend…it’s all about the thought of showing someone you love and appreciate them. And I’m all for that!
So when I saw these pillow box gifts that Maggie made for her children’s teachers, I was like…right on. Not only are they quick to make, but you can personalize it for the recipient and knock their socks off! (And hey, wouldn’t a pair of socks be fun to put in there?)
Let’s have Maggie tell us all about ’em.
The most wonderful time of the year is here again!
Even though the hustle and bustle can be a bit overwhelming I really do love everything about Christmas.
Like I (try to) do every year, I’ve gotten a little jump on some gift-wrapping this week…specifically teachers’ gifts wrapping. The last day of school always seems to creep up on me, and I was determined to not be caught pulling something together the morning of the kids’ last day…not like that’s ever happened before…ahem.
We usually give the kids’ teachers gift cards for Christmas…and Kerri’s darling little pillow boxes are a fantastic way to wrap them up!
I love love LOVE that these boxes are completely, fully, 100% customizable. I LOVE that I can change the colors, patterns, wording, designs, EVERYTHING about them if I want to. I also love that I don’t have to change a darn thing about them and they are still perfect.
For my boxes I did a little changin’ and a little keepin’ the same…
I Christmas’d-up the Number box design a bit by coloring the numbers green & red (actually, only the 2’s and 5’s are red…), and I borrowed the box top words (DO NOT OPEN UNTIL CHRISTMAS) from one of the other designs.
Then to make the box more personal, I added the teacher’s name to the design…so cute, right? I kinda love it.
For the polkie box, all I did was add the teacher’s name under “merry christmas” – and changed up the colors a bit. This teacher just happens to be one of my friends…I think she’ll freak!
And finally…for my third box I used the Star-design box as a starter. I kept the color the same and just rearranged the stars a bit to create a Christmas tree…and again, I finished off my design with the teacher’s name (OH! and a few stripes…).
These boxes are just the right size for tucking gift cards into…and they even have room for some candy or other special treats as well!
I can’t WAIT until the kids give their teachers these little presents…I hope they love them…
MERRY CHRISTMAS, everyone!
*The snowflake embellishments are Kerri’s design, too! Aren’t they just the perfect shape?!
Okay. Seriously. Adorable, right? I love that in this day and age we can make something so customizable like this–not only in color and design–but adding names! It truly makes the gift one of a kind.
Love these Maggie!

Now for our Posts of Christmas Past moment, brought to you by Nichol Magouirk. Nobody knows how to make a scene better than our Miss Nichol. And she did it fine fashion with this Letters To Santa page. It’s seriously eye candy! So many kits used. I love what she did with the penguins!
