12 Days of Christmas: Day 11 + Another Giveaway!

12-days-giveaway2

Another Friday has arrived during our little 12 Days event and that means another giveaway is afoot!

Today we are giving away a stamp set of your choice in three social media places:
here on the blog, Instagram and Facebook!

To enter here on the blog, just leave a comment with a favoritist (yeah, it’s a word) Christmas gift from your childhood, like this post on FB below, and we’ll draw a winner Sunday morning.

Now go check out the other two places for more chances to win!

And we still have this going on for today only.

deer-head-giveaway

This is the last day of our Golden Deer giveaway to purchase stamps and possibly merrily see a golden deer head come your way. If a golden deer arrives in your package, you win another stamp set!

I didn’t necessarily set out to overlap these two contests, but that’s what you get when you spontaneously think of an extra giveaway.  It’s all about partying around here, ya know? :)

In the immortal words of Garth from Wayne’s World after he’s done with his spontaneous drum solo, ‘I like to play.’

one-day-only-freebie

Today’s freebie is just a fun little card to use in your December Daily, Project Life or any other pocket scrapbooking setup you have going on this month.

It comes in three PNG card colors as well as a black transparent image so you can change color as needed.

falala

This is no longer available as a freebie, but you can get it in the store.

post-of-christmas-past

I think I just might get Christmas cards out this year. Last year I asked my kids to get me their favorite selfie or photo of them since we couldn’t manage a family photo.  Didn’t happen. But this year, so far I think I have four out of five. Fifth one will be coming soon, I hope.

But if you want to send out a handmade card, check out these cards from Nichol’s Posts of Christmas Past. Love these! For more about them, click HERE.

Confirming my feelings and a conversation, I’m afraid that I can’t think of a favorite childhood gift — I remember dolls (Nancy Nurse, Barbie, a “bride” doll), toys and games (a pogo stick), clothes – mostly handmade by my mother. Maybe as a young teen – a record player or my roller skates with a fuzzy pompom that matched the cute skater outfit my mother made. I’m hoping to go more “experience oriented” for gifts in the future!

  2. Jeanene December 11, 2015 at 7:25 am

We got a Barbie Dream House one year. That thing lasted for years.

  3. Dale P December 11, 2015 at 7:26 am

  4. Judy W, December 11, 2015 at 7:28 am

Thank you for this cute “fa la la” card and for the chance to win one of your stamp sets. You should never be accused of being a scrooge. : )

    • Judy W. December 11, 2015 at 7:34 am

Oops, I forgot to mention favorite gift as a child. A Barbie and Ken set with a inflatable swimming pool complete with beach towels, rafts, and a pink jeep.

  5. Ginger December 11, 2015 at 7:33 am

an easy bake oven and a mrs. beasley doll are among my favorite memories …. and then there was the year that Santa left a tape recorder, which i proudly auditioned in the middle of the night …. without understanding how the volume button worked! (which may explain why i am a happy crafter rather than tech person now!) Merry Christmas y’all!

  6. angela ga December 11, 2015 at 7:38 am

I think a new bike was my favorite gift as a child. A brand new shiny bike–it was awesome!

  7. Paula I December 11, 2015 at 7:41 am

One of my favorite childhood memories, was the year I got a Spriograph set! I could sit and doodle with that thing FOR EVER ER! :o) Another favorite, was the Lite Bright. Thanks Kerri, and have a terrific day!

  9. Julie McMillin December 11, 2015 at 7:53 am

Of course, it’s the classic Easy Bake Oven. My favorite dish? the Cherry Chip cake – just open the bag, add water, and voila! Cake! Kind of like how I cook now… Thanks Kerri!

  10. Rhadonda December 11, 2015 at 7:56 am

Fave childhood gift believe it or not was a doll, one of my earliest memories peeking through the keyhole to my parents bedroom as my mom was wrapping gifts. I was probably 5. Thanks for all the great freebies and ideas! Merry CHRISTmas to you!

  11. Tracy Wallace December 11, 2015 at 8:08 am

Mom and dad made me a huge barbie house on wheels-amazing!

  12. justasiam December 11, 2015 at 8:09 am

My most favourite present from my childhood was something called a spirograph…it made all types of designs. Along with that, I got a pen that had three different colours, depending on which lever you put down. I was in heaven!!

I don’t seem to remember one specific gift during my childhood, but reading everyone’s posts sure bring back memories of things I did get or wanted during my childhood! How fun to see. I really did enjoy getting ice skates so I could join my friends down at the local rink on weekends and nights! Makes me feel old!

  15. Kerry C December 11, 2015 at 8:27 am

My favorite childhood Christmas present would have to be the dollhouse that my grandfather built for me. It was as tall as I was at the time and had a fireplace! Barbie and her friends lived in style after that!

  16. nerdgrl (Kim S.) December 11, 2015 at 8:47 am

We got a yearly ski pass to the local ski hill every year. We always knew that would be a part of Christmas. Of course, the years we got new skis and bindings or boots were pretty good too!

  17. Cathy Doerr December 11, 2015 at 8:51 am

I wanted an Easy Bake Oven for Christmas one year. My parents sat me down and sadly told me that it was too expensive. I did get a Chatty Cathy doll one year. I loved her.

  18. Cathleen December 11, 2015 at 8:52 am

I remember getting Lanz of Salsbury flannel nighties almost every year. I LOVED them!

  20. Pam K December 11, 2015 at 8:57 am

Well — I don’t know if this was a favorite gift, but it stands out in my memory. My dad’s family would get together each Christmas season for a big family party. Names were exchanged the prior year & each person would get one gift. The year that I was maybe 10 or 11 years old, I received a nail polish kit. It made me feel so grownup!

Thanks for today’s gift — the font on the cards is beautiful!

  21. Cynthia Larson December 11, 2015 at 9:26 am

I guess it would probably have to be either Easy Bake Oven or Barbie Corvette and Town House. My sister and I got a lot of use out of these for years!

  22. Lara Read December 11, 2015 at 9:27 am

Barbie Air Plane. Wish I still had it ;)

  29. Kathy W December 11, 2015 at 10:54 am

My best childhood Christmas gift was a dollhouse. It was a rambler style and made out of metal. We moved when I was 15 and I gave it to a neighbor who had a couple of young girls. Sure wish I would have kept it!

  30. Alysia H December 11, 2015 at 10:55 am

I love the idea of creating a card with selfies instead of trying to stress about getting everyone together…can’t wait to see it!

  31. LindaH December 11, 2015 at 11:25 am

  32. Natalie (QSOgirl) December 11, 2015 at 11:39 am

  33. Brenda S. December 11, 2015 at 12:11 pm

My Barbie carousel kitchen!!! I loved it and my sister got the same thing so there would be no fighting. Unfortunately it was also the year we discovered the truth about Santa when we found our toys in a bag in the basement by the workbench! A close 2nd favorite would be the other Krissy doll-Mia- with the dark hair)!!

  36. Yvonne December 11, 2015 at 12:20 pm

My favorite Christmas gift was an aqua colored Easy Bake Oven. Oodles of fun and hours of enjoyment. When the mixes that came with the oven ran out, my mom bought Jiffy cake and icing mixes for me to use when they were on sale–sometimes for as little as 5 to 10 cents! :)

Thanks Kerri for the opportunity to win these stamps! :)

Thank you so much for the FaLaLa! I have received many very nice Christmas gifts, but my favorite would have been a child size desk with shelves and chair. I played school for several years and felt so grown up when I was probably in kindergarten.

  47. Cynthia B. December 11, 2015 at 3:38 pm

    Thanks for the freebie, Kerri!
My most memorable Xmas gift when I was a child came when I was in high school – 14yo, I think. We had a couple of lean years when my dad was job-hunting, and when Christmas came around, each of my sisters and I got several boxes to open, including add-a-bead necklaces. Remember those? Anyway, I was so happy – I didn’t expect anything much, and my mom and dad made sure that each of us got cool gifts – love that they took care of us! <3

  48. Phyllis Beaver December 11, 2015 at 3:57 pm

  49. Sue FitzGerald December 11, 2015 at 4:31 pm

One of my favourite presents was a farm set I received when I was little. I remember playing with it for hours on end. It had a farm house, barn, hay stacks, fencing, and lots of animals. I had two white mice that one of my brothers rescued from the science lab at school that I would put in the house and let them run around the paddocks. Simple pleasures. x

  50. Justie December 11, 2015 at 4:48 pm

My favorite game was The Super Mario Bros game. It’s still my favorite game to this day. I had few other great Christmas gift as a child but that the one I remember the most.

  53. Lori P December 11, 2015 at 5:42 pm

Interesting. When I first read and thought about what to post here I could not think of a single favorite gift. Then I started reading some postings and they reminded me of things I got but still nothing jumped out as a favorite. So… my answer would have to be the flannel night gowns my mother would sew once we went to bed AND spending time with family. That is what I remember most.Like Christmas Eve night my Aunt and Uncle would drive up the road to our house and bring my Grandmother. They would pull into the drive backwards so they could unpack the trunk full of gifts at our front door. I do not remember what was under the wrappings, just the excitement they were there and the giggles we had later.

  54. Susan F December 11, 2015 at 5:44 pm
