Some ‘Love’ly Decor

I love just having a simple little decor for Valentine’s Day. Like I say, it’s not a holiday we go overboard with, but it’s fun to show a little love around the home, right?

That’s why I adore this decor by our Miss Maggie…who is in the same ‘love boat’ as me. :)

simple. sweet. love.

Maggie…take it away darlin’!

Hey everyone!

I’ll be honest, Valentine’s Day is not my favorite holiday ever. I mean, it’s OK…but it’s not my favorite. I do enjoy having little subtle love-themed decorations up in my house this time of year, though…so I made some with a few of Kerri’s awesome digital stamps! Yay!

I started by pulling up the XO digital stamp set in my Silhouette Studio software and doing a Trace on the Love and heart PNG images.

I enlarged the designs to fit inside my paper and cut them out – easy peasy!

My next step was to run this darling little word through my Minc machine to add some beautiful rose gold foil.

And done!

I hung this up on the chalkboard wall in my kitchen…and I LOVE it. It’s the perfect little decoration.

Next up! I created a little paper banner with another stamp…here’s how I made it:

The first steps are the same as above – I traced the XO and heart to create cut file.

Because I wanted to turn these design into banner pieces I decided to add the little stringing holes to the designs so that the Silhouette could cut them out for me.

To do this I simply “drew” little circles right into the designs with the ellipse tool…that was it. So easy, right?

I duplicated the shapes a number of times…

…cut out the shapes and strung my banner…

…and I couldn’t be happier! That little XO makes me smile…

love.

And be sure to go check this banner in use on Maggie’s blog where she used it with a darling ensemble for a hot chocolate bar featuring goodies from Heidi Swapp! Here’s a little peek at it to tantalize your tastebuds…literally. :)
