We’re here today with another blast from Christmas past with the ever-so lovely Miss Maggie! This cute thing decked the halls of her Heidi Swapp album with some KBS goodness in preparation for documenting all things Christmas.

Here’s what Maggie has to say:

My first step was to decorate the cover of my album…I chose one of my “NOEL” cuts and a little poinsettia embellishment. I decided to trace inside the letters with a journaling pen – just to give the design a little more depth – and I love the way it turned out. Is it a bit messy? Yep. But that’s just fine with me. I think it really helps the “NOEL” to stand out against the stripes and dots on the cover.

I added my little embellishment and then I laminated the 2 pieces. In the past I have found that when I adhere paper layers to the front of an album they don’t always stay stuck. I’m hoping that having just one piece attached to the cover will be a better option for me.

The next thing I did was cut a small 4×4 template from a piece of cardstock to create a “photo frame” on each of my pages. Then I simply traced around my template…easy peasy. I’m so glad I did this…not only have I decided on the size of each of my photos, but I’ve also eliminated the stress of having to figure out where the photo will go and on which page.

Next I added a title page to my album using one of my Christmas tree cuts. Here again I traced around the inside of my tree, just to make the image stand out a bit more.

Once I’d finished that I was ready to add some numbers to my pages.

As you can see my pages are quite plain. And that’s OK! I’m not worried about how fancy they are…I’m more concerned with getting those memories documented. I will add some journaling and a few more embellishments as our days play out, but, for right now, they are just perfect.

I’m so so excited for next month to get here so that I can start filling in these pages! This is further along than I’ve ever been in a December album at this time, and I’m really confident that I’ll be able to stay on track.

Okay…those trees! Love the trees! And I love how Maggie took many of her components from the Christmas Countdown and turned it into an amazing album!

Well done, my friend!
