White on white is my favorite color combo.
Is that really a considered a color combo?
Well, it is in my coloring book. And today we have a most excellent execution of said color combo from our Miss Paige. Will take your breath away, it will.
Here’s Paige’s process:
This is one of those times where I didn’t have an exact idea in my mind when I started, it all just sort of evolved from one step to the next! I keep a few of my favorite cut files in a folder on my desktop so I started by looking through them and I came across the Background Dahlia in the BACKGROUND BASICS #3 set. I decided to cut it from scratch cardstock and use it as a template for modeling paste on a white background to create a pretty texture.
Next, since it was a floral background, I wanted to use a cute photo of my daughter and needed a title. I enlarged the “bloom” word from BLOOM set and die cut it from white cardstock. Then I die cut and stitched a large vellum butterfly from the BEAUTIFUL DAY DIGITAL STAMP set.
To continue with the monochromatic white theme, I punched a bunch of butterflies from cardstock and machine stitched through the centers, grabbed some sequins and ribbon, and trimmed a bit of doily. I also found a little white button, pearl pins, and some white alpha stickers to complete the title.
With all of those elements surrounding me, I began putting the page together with the large title at the bottom and working my way out from there. I typed the location and the date and wrote the journaling in an empty space.
It was a fun challenge to try and only use a single color and create lots of texture and dimension featuring these Kerri Bradford cut files!
I love that Paige challenges herself to try new things. I envy the talent of a ‘come what may’ process, especially when it results in something as beautiful as this! That modeling paste floral background and all those textures and layers……..
I’m too much of a perfectionist and need to do my own trying of something new in the ‘carefree’ arena.
….maybe next week…or next month…or……..I’ll schedule it in somewhere. ;)
