Day 2 | Trees Please

It’s no secret…I am a tree lover. My dream job would be to grow trees. When I day dream, I dream of going up into the mountains and being surrounded by trees. The way they rustle in the air, the shade on a hot day….it’s so soothing.

And the smell. Is there anything more heavenly then slowly breathing in the pine fresh scent, especially on a Christmas tree?

Alas, this is why it’s so glorious that today’s 12 Days of Christmas happens to be tree-themed. :) You can never have too many trees.

Let’s take a look at another amazing page with a giant Christmas tree from Kim Jeffress! Oh my gosh, I’m dying! This is awesome!

Oh that tree…and on a car…it’s maaaarvelous!

Lets see what Kim has to see about all this.

My most favourite image of Christmas in recent years is the iconic christmas tree atop a vintage red car. I love it. Since we experience Christmas in Australia in Summer I wanted to play a little twist on this image on my layout, so I used the Open Road car and Oh Christmas tree to create a bright and fun back ground pattern paper. I love how it turned out.

Let me share quickly how it came together. I printed off the Open Road car printable onto white cardstock and fussy cut it out. I then I used my silhouette cameo to cut out the Oh Christmas Tree onto white cardstock. Next I used some Heidi Swapp colorshine to create an ombre effect on my tree. Once dry I adhered it together and attached it on top of the car with pop dots.

For my title I used some of the Holiday Label printables and, printed and punched them out and created a banner to the left of my photo. I added some of the Merry Little Words and used the Brooklyn stamps to complete my title.

I adore the bright pops of color that the tree creates on my page, I cant wait to use it again!

That printed car…it makes it look like a cardboard cutout.
sigh. love.

And the multi-colors of the tree, all the little words, the stamping…oh my goodness…the page is just complete eye candy!

Thanks for stopping by for the holidays, Miss Kim! It’s always a pleasure. :)

Now how’s about some more trees with our one-day freebie Trees Please.
(I’m tellin’ ya, you can never have enough trees.)

So I had this 2D tree made for our big 12 Days of Christmas event–you know, trying to be prepared and all. Then I attended Heidi Swapp’s Holiday Craft event a couple days ago where they had these cutout buildings and 3D trees that we didn’t use. I thought it would be so fun to include that kind of style with the flat version…and that 3D style is what you see here…in glitter cardstock, of course. :)

Just another fun way to use them!

And these trees remind me of a ‘narrower’ version of a ceramic tree that my grandma used to have. The one where you put little plastic ‘lights’ in the holes of the tree and illuminate it with a light underneath? Do any of you remember those? You could widen the flat tree and make it look more like that, if’n ya wanted. :)

This one-day freebie goes away at midnight tonight.

Okay, so that’s Day 2.
Can you handle all this fun?
We’ve got ten more days! :)
