For the most part, this fall has been unseasonably warm. Seems like there was a week in October when it was pretty cold, but last weekend? Dan and Zach went golfing. Crazy!
Now it’s December and I am really excited for some snow! It’s hard to get into the Christmas groove when not only hasn’t it snowed, but it’s warm. Oy! There is snow in the forecast today and tomorrow, but I’ll believe it when I see it.
For now, I’ve been relying on my Ray Conniff to get me all festive like. And therefore, Christmas lyrics have been on the brain and resulted in today’s one-day freebie, Retro Art: Christmas Magic.
Just a little holiday fun in retro art style. I love the clean typography of the Retro Art series (find them HERE). This Retro Art: Christmas Magic has two songs. I typed up two songs and rather than deciding, I used them both. I’m like that. ;) So this kit has White Christmas and Jingle Bells.
Love Minc-ing mine, of course. Everything looks awesome all shiny like. It would also look amazing in white with black text or black with white text. Red with white text would be darlng too! Lots of options! And speaking of options, check out THIS post for using it in a frame for home decor.
These are also great to use in your December Daily album or travelers notebook as a little insert. I didn’t punch holes in this because I think I want it in my TN this year, but I still wanted to give you the idea. On the flip side you could put patterened paper, journaling, a tall skinny photo…oh, so much fun!
Now speaking of snow, check out this fantastic travelers notebook spread from our newest team member, Melissa Morrelli! Ack! I love!
I love how Melissa incorporates all the typographic phrases and elements together on her page to create such a fabulous spread. She has a true gift for this.
Let’s hear what Melissa has to say:
December will be a busy month for me scrappy wise. I will attempt to complete both a December daily project and keep up with our day to day stuff in my trusty traveler’s notebooks. My plan to stay ahead, is to keep both projects as minimal as possible. Some days may be just a story with no pictures and some days will have both a story and a picture(s).
An easy and trusty trick to keep my pages simple in my traveler’s notebook is a 4×8″ picture with some stamping and a few words. I just love that ‘sleigh rides’ stamp and I just had to use it to document this snow day we spent sledding. Happy December!
If you notice, Melissa’s style lends itself to your classic black+white feel and it always looks amazing. I love her clean style!
Three days down, nine to go on our 12 Days of Christmas! So much more goodness coming your way. And don’t forget about the sale going on. :)
