We are on our 10th day of Christmas folks! Can you even believe how fast this has gone? Just two more days! You guys have been so awesome. Your love for this time of year here is why I do what I do. I appreciate each and every one of you. mwah!
And now I have a question…do any of you still get excited when you see a deer? Granted, I know that many people don’t live where the deer and the antelope play, but there are many that do. And you would think that seeing a deer would finally become commonplace and ordinary. Not for me. Every time I see a deer it’s magical. I love it!
And you know what’s even more magical than seeing a deer in the wild? Seeing it like this! And we have Sheree Forcier here to tell…and show…us all about it!
I love Christmas! It really is my favourite time of year and it’s always fun to document all the festivities and memories from this special season. This photo of myself with two of my kids was taken last Christmas Eve. We were all together at home, watching the carols on tv with our tree all lit up and looking gorgeous and of course we were all decked out in our fun Christmas headwear! Haha…love it!
For this 12 x 12 layout I chose to use the Oh Deer cut file as my feature, and backed it with pretty Crate Paper Falala papers with some machine stitching. I then used some Ranger Gold Tinsel embossing powder and the Twinkle stamp set to stamp the strings of lights and the lovely Christmas floral shape. The title was created using the Brooklyn alpha stamp set.
I then added some layers behind my photo including a tag which I can add some journaling to, and some other die cuts and glittery embellishments around the page.
Underneath the title I used two more stamps from the Twinkle set with black ink…and a sparkly red pom pom nose finished off the page!
This video will show you my process for this layout.
I absolutely love the Oh Deer cut file and I’m already thinking of other ways I can use it. This layout was so fun to create!
Okay seriously? I am so over the moon for this page…I can’t even take it! The colors, the design choices…it all comes together so divinely! It’s as amazing as eating my Farr’s peppermint ice cream of the same colors. And that is high praise indeed. :)
Oh, and those lights hanging from the deer’s antlers? Genius!
Thank you so much for coming to our holiday party Miss Sheree!
Now for today’s freebie, Christmas Cheer, which also happens to have a deer image in it.
When I first set into the designing mode on this, my mind went to doing these in circles. of course, in the essence of flexibility, I figured it would be good to have 3×4 cards as well. And not only are they printable ready, but they also include cut files so you can cut the deer, snowflake or lights. Don’t know that I’d try cutting the text. Maybe if it was large?
And on another note, you’d think I’d plan these freebies to go along with the pages. That it was all coordinated. Alas, I do not. I do have my list of the freebies and see what goes best with what our incredibly talented contributors make. I have done this for a few years now and it’s amazing how it (almost) always ties together! The deer, the lights…there’s even snowflakes between the two. I knew the deer went together, but didn’t even realize about the lights and snowflake until typing this post.
Is that weird or what?
It boggles the mind.
