Oh my gosh. Going through these photos is killing me. I just wanna go back and spend more time in Paris again! Would love to see it all green and flowery too. Alas, I will just have to dream as I put my book together, little by little.
Here’s the next spread on the day we…Arrived.
The front left photo is actually a screenshot from a video. A cute old man boarded the train from the airport, bound for Paris, and played his accordion for us. I took a little video of him and since my back was to him, I recorded him over my shoulder. Um. He obviously knew he was being recorded or photographed. haha
I will share more about the trip in an actual post with photos and such, so don’t worry. :)
For this spread, I made a little collage of the photos that represented our arrival–hotel, first lunch, etc. I used the Brooklyn SM stamps to completely spell with its multiple letters, the word arrived. The Brooklyn stamp series are my favorite because they are tall and narrow which allows you to get more on a page. Perfect for travelers notebooks and planners!
Underneath I used the arrows from One Fine Day and the phrase from Vacation. Also, I didn’t ink two of the arrow designs so that it would be just a little shorter.
On the opposite page, I printed my text on plain white paper and used a text box to wrap the text around so I could put my photo within the text. Bon Appetit comes from the I Love Paris digital stamps. It is also the same proportion as the physical stamps, I just chose to put it on digitally this go around.
I graphically created the date label and printed it at the same time I printed my photos. Not only is it more efficient, but printing black comes out so much nicer on photo paper. A touch of washi behind it all and voila! I’m fini.
Keeping it simple, getting it done.
And now I’m in search of (and hungry for) an awesome French Onion soup recipe as well as that wonderful French vinaigrette! If you’ve gone one, please share!
