Sorry. I just felt compelled to rhyme. But don’t let that in any way diminish its true sentiment. Today we are showcasing two lovely ladies and their take on Sketch #2!
You know me. I love keeping things simple. But that doesn’t mean a sketch has to be done ‘as is’ either. It’s just a base. If you want to get creative with a sketch, have at it!
Today we have an example of those two styles–one that’s a little more true to sketch form and one that’s been kicked up a notch.
Let’s take a look at this awesomeness from our party guest Wendy Saponaro.
What Wendy says:
What I say:
I love how Wendy kept pretty true to the sketch on this. Knowing me, that’s what I would have done too. You know, keeping it simple and all. ;) I love the idea of using the stamped words between photos too. It all couldn’t have turned out more perfectly. It’s absolutely wonderful!
Next we have another fabulous spread from Sheree Forcier using the back-in-stock-for-a-limited-time Hocus Pocus stamps.
What Sheree says:
Halloween is so fun! We haven’t always celebrated it here in Australia, but in recent years it has become more and more popular. Madison loves getting dressed up to go trick or treating with her friends! For my traveler’s notebook spread all I needed was the awesome Hocus Pocus stamp set and some orange patterned paper. I used a mix of the cute images and phrases to embellish the spread then turned the photo on the first page into a flip-up so I could hide my journaling underneath along with more stamping.
What I say:
Love how this has all the flavors of the sketch, with a hidden surprise! One of my favorite techniques is to extend a spread with hidden items. And you may not have noticed, but every accent on there, including the border, is from the Hocus Pocus stamps. That is pretty darn cool! And the stitching she added is just the right way to finish it off. perfection.
