This is the actual official birthday of Kerri Bradford Studio.
We’ve been having such a grand birthday week with the sale (details below) and all the fun sketch pages! And now, because it’s ‘my’ birthday, I have a gift for you–this fun little Birthday Stack…and it is forever free. :)
I really wanted to cut it, but my Silhouette wasn’t having it. I’ve cut more delicate things before, so I’m thinking I need a new blade because I even tried it about 7″ wide and it was having issues. Either that, or after about eight years it’s time for a new wireless Silhouette. ;)
I also used the brand new It’s A Date stamp (loving it!) and the new Label Maker (it’s sold out already?!) along with a phrase from Line By Line. So many of the KBS stamps work together so well. Oh yeah, and that little diagonal line stamp is from…um…Oh Yeah. :)
I used a 3×4 grey lined card from the Be Mine kit. I love printing out kits to have on hand–and I had a good chunk of these cards that I could just pull from…which was nice because I also couldn’t print because I needed black ink and didn’t have time to run get it. Oh what a crazy life. ;)
And I actually used Sketch #2 as my starting point here too.
I also want to do a quick shout out to my daughter-in-law who just had her birthday yesterday–we celebrated the night before. Happy birthday Shyanne!
Now let’s take a look at some great ideas for Sketch #3!
(see Monday’s post for all three sketches.)
Today we have guest designer Jen Gallacher and I can’t tell you how excited I am to work with her once more. Many moons ago she used to be part of my QVC team, so this isn’t her first rodeo with me. ;) Love this girl.
What Jen says:
I have to admit that the Whatever stamp set totally drove the theme for this page. My daughter has a funny, quirky personality that I adore and I wanted to capture that both in the photos as well as the theme. I used a die cut “joy” title and then picked sentiments from the stamp set that matched the message I wanted to share with her: live your life as the happy person you are.
I then searched for photos that captured her at her funniest. My favorite layouts to create are ones that share my love for my children. To me it’s not so much about the event, as the feelings we shared as a family in those special moments.
What I say:
What a beautiful page, in design and sentiment. It’s awesome that you can use the sketches as a one-pager as well, like Jen did here. Love her choice of colors too! Just a happy page. Love it.
Now let’s see Laura’s take on Sketch #3.
What Laura says:
For this 6×8″ spread, I used sketch #3, and with the exception of moving my journaling placement and adding an additional photo, I stuck to the sketch as it was.
I printed all of my photos in varying sizes, and arranged them across the two pages, overlapping them as needed. I die cut a flower background from white cardstock, using Kerri’s Background Basics kit, and added that along the top of the two pages to create a white-on-white look.
I added my die cut title, using the Summer Vibes and Something To Say #2 kits, to the top of the left page of the spread, and adhered my journaling along the top of the right page of the spread. A few simple enamel dots were all I added to embellish the page.
What I say:
Oh, you know I love me some white on white! The ’embossed looking’ flowers are amazing. I also love how Laura mixed a script word from one kit with a block word from another. That is so up my alley. Gorgeousness abounds.
And now, about that sale…
On purchases of $10 or more, you can save 30% on downloads and classes using the coupon CELEBRATE8. You can also save 15% on stamps–discount already applied. There are a few exclusions to the sale, like the July stamps that just came out.
Many stamps have sold out already (thank you!), so if you were wanting to get your hands on some, don’t wait.
