I have fond memories of my grandparent’s Christmas tree. The bubble lights, the tinsel, and the brightly colored ornaments in an array of colors–including pink. Now, pink is not your ‘traditional’ Christmas color, but when I see it, I’m transported back in time. I even have some similar looking ornaments with flashes of pink mixed in. It’s happiness.
So when I saw the Merry tree from Maggie’s travelers notebook decked out in shades of pink, I smiled.
I was a child again.
Take a look.
Isn’t that just the happiest spread you’ve ever seen? The pink totally makes it! Love her choice of color here. And love how she essentially made her own background with those pink trees. sigh.
Here’s what Maggie has to say:
I was looking for some photos to print from last year’s holiday season and came across this one of my daughter. I printed it out and happened to set it down on my desk right near a hot pink bottle brush tree (that I unashamedly keep out all year long). I loved how both the tree on my desk and the tree in the photo were so similar and I was instantly inspired.
I had remembered seeing a darling little tree design in one of Kerri’s new stamp sets, and I set out to find it right away. And there it was…in the brand new Merry stamp set.
I stamped the tree in both hot pink & coral ink randomly around my notebook pages, and then added my photo. I wanted to keep things very simple on this spread, so I added a few journaling strips & one more little stamp – “around the christmas tree.”
I LOVE this spread. And I love the non-traditional Christmas colors!
I love it too, my friend!
