If you don’t know this already, I am not only a huge fan of white backgrounds, but throw white on top of white? I am in heaven.
And when I made today’s freebie, Christmas Nordic Village, I had one idea in mind–multiple layers of cardstock house pieces on a white card (I did 2)…splashed with a little silver embossed words from Bundle Up to complete it.
And tell me. Could there be a better time for white on white than winter?
Okay, so the little nordic village is also adorable in color….on mostly white cardstock. ;) I’ve combined them with sentiments from Better Not Pout and Holiday Magic and printed them as 3×4 and 4×6 cards. Love how they turned out!
On another note, for the past couple years I’ve been obsessed with little houses. And reallllly obsessed this year. I’ve wanted a certain style of little ceramic houses and they’ve been impossible to find. Our Target ‘Dollar Spot’ never has them. At least not the bizillion times I’ve gone. How fast can they get picked over? Oy. And I went first thing in the morning several days a week–well before Thanksgiving when they were putting out Christmas stuff.
Anywaaaay, I’ve settled for buying some galvanized houses at Target, Kirkland’s and Walmart. I just need to get them painted white. And since I kind of missed the spray-painting window before winter set in, it looks like I’ll be waiting for white houses until next year.
And I’m not sure when I’ll get to it in my book, but I had totally planned to do the same thing–wreath and all!–that Sheree did yesterday, only with the tall skinny house from this kit. I about died when I saw her page. Too funny. :)
Okay then, wanna see some more white on white?
(you know that’s a rhetorical question, right?)
Check out what our friend Miss Jamie Pate has made!
Oh my goodness! Be still my ever-lovin’ heart with those white-on-white holly leaves. gasp! And that super big red Holidays from Wrapped? You’re killin’ me Jamie!
all this. gorgeous. that is all.
Let’s hear what Jamie has to say:
This digital hybrid creative is super excited to be using Kerri Bradford Designs in my December Album once again. These designs always find their way in my yearly book. I love that one can use the digital stamps, like Wrapped, to create filler cards, or use as sentiments to an album spread. The ‘holiday’ graphic was begging to be enlarged and printed in red on vellum. I popped that into a page protector. It adds a transparent feel to my book that I always enjoy implementing.
The By The Numbers digital stamps are responsible for creating my daily numbers. I used the png in my Silhouette to cut out numbers. I love the tone on tone look. But cutting them out with pattern paper creates a great creative pop too.
One more go-to digital for me is the Merry Little Words. I take that printable and, well…print it out on smooth white cardstock. Then I have this set of word phrases on the ready to add festive sentiment to my pages. Just like I did to my 2 page.
The Holly Sketch is a fabulous cut file. I kept it white. But printed and cut the berries in red for a minimalist pocket page card. I love how clean that page looks yet with plenty of texture from the holly cut.
Hope these ideas provide some merry to your Christmas. Enjoy the process. Tell a story everyday. And have beautiful memories saved for years to come.
I’m going to be having visions of red and white in my dreams tonight. love. Thank you for sharing this gorgeous goodie with us Jamie!
