Do you decorate for the love season? I have to admit, I’m a minimalist with the love decor. And something like what Melissa has made would be perfect in my world!
I love to decorate for each holiday. I guess I’d call myself a bit of a “collector” of holiday decorations. Each year as any holiday approaches I like to buy at least one new piece to add to my collection. This year for Valentines Day, I couldn’t find anything that really sparked my joy! Ha!
So I made some of my own.
I found these two chalkboard pieces (a heart and a 16″x 16″framed board) in Bullseye’s Playground at Target. I love the chalkboard look but my handwriting is meh, so I called on Kerri…or her digital stamps, that is.
Using digital stamps from a few of Kerri’s collections, and white card stock, I put my Silhouette to work.
For the heart piece I cut the ‘February’ from the About Time digital stamp set…I LOVE this set so much. This sign is so simple, yet enough. Kerri’s handwriting is just so beautiful!
For the big square frame, I cut the “LOVE | what makes the go world go ’round.” from the Defined digital stamp set. I embellished my board with some hearts and XO from Kerri’s XO digital stamp set and some paper rosettes from a from a file that I had on hand. I added a photo and backed with vellum and some printed paper and called it done. This project ended up in a different direction than what I started out with but I really love how it turned out. It reminds me of a giant Scrapbook layout.
I did finish all the projects using removable adhesive so I can change them out as often as I like.
I hope I’ve inspired you to make something.
This is so beautiful! What an amazing idea for a little love ensemble! So cool how Melissa cut not only the february, but the definition too! Fabulous idea!
love.
