Oh boy! Do we have another fun day ahead.

First, stamps, goodies…all still on sale. (See yesterday’s post for details). Hope you guys are finding some sweet stuff.

Second, I have another gift to give!

I am not your conventional stamper. Not a big card maker. Love making tags and using stamps for documenting though. And while I have purchased some inks over the years, nothing has tickled me more pink than those from Altenew.

 

 

Absolutely loooooove their color choices and working with the inks is dreamy, especially when combined with Neenah Solar White Cardstock. mmmm….

So today, I want to share my love of these babies with someone else by giving them a little $30 shopping spree (aka, gift card) to Altenew!

And now for the third item on our agenda, some awesomeness from Miss Melissa. 

 

 

Here’s what Melissa has to say:

Hi there friends! Summer is well underway in our house, but I’m always thinking ahead of projects for the kids and upcoming events. And because time waits for no one, school will be here before you know it. 

I’m all about telling our stories. No matter how simple or elaborate we choose to tell your stories, they are all important and worth documenting. 

My eldest daughter is moving on to 6th grade this coming school year (Yikes!) and since she likes to scrap with me, especially stories about herself, I thought it would be fun to put together a travelers notebook for her to tell some of her own stories this year. This summer seems to be bringing much more independence when it comes to hanging out with her friends. She’ll be going to camp for a week this school year, she’s busy with sports, band and school clubs. It’s fun to hear her excitement when she’s telling me all the details of her activities and it will be just as fun to see how and what she’ll choose to share. 

For this project, I took a piece of cardstock and trimmed it to 9×8.5″ (this will be used as the cover). Then I took some simple printer paper and cut it to the same size as the the cardstock cover (this will be used for the filler paper inside the notebook). All papers were scored directly in the center of each sheet of paper and folded and stacked into each other. I stapled mine, but stapling isn’t necessary, the notebook can stay together with a rubber band, stitching or on its own. Then at the end I trimmed the notebook down to 4.25×8.25″. I stamped the grid pattern and some sentiments on the front cover. Then I cut up another sheet of cardstock and decided to make some simple journal cards to start her off with.

Isn’t this an awesome idea for your child…or even yourself? And using On The Grid to make a notebook cover? Oh my! I love. Prepping all the cards and pages using the Learn stamp set and a few others is brilliant.
