It’s my favorite month. The back-to-school-ness, the cooler temps, the changing over into warmer clothes….I love it!

And with the new month comes six new stamp sets. Yay!

 

 

We have the two backgrounds, Itty Bitty: Dot and Itty Bitty: Plus, a new Chicago Alphabet and Numbers/Etc. set, and then we have A Numbered Account (oh my gosh…the big number collage!) and my most favorite of all…Inked!

What does the perfectionist do when she wants ink splatters? She makes a stamp so she can put it exactly where she wants it in the color she wants it! I’ve never done any kind of ink splatter because the thought of it going somewhere I didn’t want it to be made me anxious. ;)

I’m sure this isn’t an original concept (I don’t pay attention to other stamps out there, so I don’t know), but it was an original idea and execution for me. I’ve never made ink spots, so this was a fun challenge just using my cheap watercolors–the only paint/ink I had to work with. Dan saw me looking over a proof I’d printed and wondered if I was doing psychological testing. haha I can’t tell you just how danged excited I was over creating a solution for this perfection-minded soul!

As always, the new stamps and digital counterparts are on sale today and tomorrow.

Before we see them in action, I wanted to draw your attention to the Brooklyn Outline stamp series which have been put into a LAST CALL status. They have been incredibly popular, however, they aren’t as staple-ish as the solid Brooklyn line and mama’s gotta clean house still. :)

Also, back in the KBS house for the third and final time is Hocus Pocus–it has a LAST CALL status. If it sells out before October 31, it’s possible I may do another run, but it’s not guaranteed.

There are so many detail going on here that I’m totally digging! Using the numbers as a backdrop to other stamped text? Brilliant. And she splattered so delightfully. Just swooning over the plus sign border!

Hi there friends! How can it really be September already?! 

In my travelers notebooks, I usually like to start each month, with an overview of what we may have planned for the month and maybe a few things we hope to get done during the month. Sort of like a table of contents. 

This month, I decided to try something different. My oldest daughter’s birthday is September 1st and I thought it would be fun to do a “A Millions Reasons Why// I Love you. I’m Glad You Exist” list, as the opener to this months notebook. The new A Numbered Account‘stamp set was perfect for this project. 

For this project, I typed out my list on my computer, printed it and then I had a blank canvas to go to town using Kerri’s fun, new stamps. I used the big number cluster, from A Numbered Account, in a light pink ink to layer under the title of the list. I stamped a vertical border on the left side of the page using the Itty Bitty: Plus stamp. I love how this looks like washi.  Then I used the amazing Inked stamp to start creating splatters on a few different places on my page.  (I have always loved the looks of ink splatters, but could never pull them off. This stamp set is a total game changer). I added a few more stamps to to the bottom right of the page to add the date.
