What is it about glittery designs on a Christmas card? It seems to just take that festivity up a notch, doesn’t it? I especially love the gold. And put it on white? Oh boy. That just makes me all sorts of happy.

So is it any wonder why I let out a bit of giddiness when I saw this little ensemble with this month’s stamps from the creative fingers of Miss Sheree.

 

 

 

All is merry and bright and right in the world with this set! The gold plaid??? Ack! I just love all of Sheree’s choices here and all the little details. sigh.

The Looks Like Christmas stamp set is perfect for making festive cards!  I decided to pair it with the Mad About Plaid stamp and the new Envelope: Tabbed cut file to create a card and gift tag set.

For the card, I stamped the plaid across the bottom of the card front and heat embossed it in gold before adding stitching around the edge.  I took another piece of plain white cardstock then stamped and heat embossed the “Merry + Bright” phrase onto the bottom, stitched around the border and adhered it to the card front.  The snowflake was stamped and heat embossed onto a scrap piece of cardstock, fussy cut and adhered above the phrase with a foam dot for dimension.  A little gem was added to the centre of the snowflake and some twine added to the side of the card to finish it off. 

I used my Silhouette to cut the envelope using the Tabbed Envelope cut file in the A2 size to fit the card.  The plaid was stamped  and embossed down the side of the envelope front, the word “to” was also added, then twine was tied into place for a little added texture.   

For the gift tag, I cut a tag shape, stamped and embossed the plaid across the bottom, then added the “to” and “from stamps above the plaid.  The medium sized snowflake was stamped and embossed onto scrap white cardstock, fussy cut then adhered into place with a foam dot and a little gem added to the centre.  I stitched around the edge of the tag, then added some tiny tinsel and twine to the hole at the top. 

I love the festive look and beautiful texture the embossed gold brings to this project!  It would be fun to re-create these in different colours and you could easily make lots of these at once by just stamping with ink instead of embossing or by stamping the snowflakes directly onto the card and tag instead of fussy cutting.
