Part of the fun of Christmas is giving little treats or small gifts. And one of my favorite ways of doing that is making my own little bags and tags. It adds that personal touch and you can make it how you want it…and in multiples, if needed.

Take a look at what the lovely Miss Maggie has made for us today. Such darling treat bags and tags!

 

 

 

 

 

Each one of these is so simple to make and look so freakin’ awesome. The merry’s? sigh.  And simply skewing the joy to the world on a tag and top it with a star? Ack! I love that!

Here’s Maggie to tell us about them:

The holidays are coming! The holidays are coming! And before you yell back – No! It’s too soon! -you and I both know they will be here before you know it. And, quite frankly, I refuse to let myself be unprepared…again. 

I’ve long believed that you can make a pretty average present look AMAZING just by wrapping it up in beautiful packaging. So, while a couple of little pieces of chocolate may not seem all that special, they become the perfect little gift when they are presented in such a darling little container.

I created my treat bags using plain white cardstock & vellum, Kerri’s Paper Bag: Sweet Treats cut file, and my Silhouette. After I cut the bags, but before I adhered them together, I stamped the Mad About Plaid design on the bags I cut from cardstock. I wanted to keep them looking a bit rough and uneven, so I didn’t worry about making sure my stamp was inked up perfectly. I love the effect…and, to me, they look almost like vintage fabric.

After stamping my plaid bags, I added a few designs to my vellum bag. I started with the Itty Bitty: Dot stamp in the corner, and then stamped a few of the branch designs from the Peace on Earth set.

To create my tags, I open up Kerri’s Office Tags in my photo editing software and removed all of the words I wasn’t going to use for this project. Then, I simply printed them out onto cardstock, stamped them, and cut them out. Easy peasy!
