I am an old soul at heart. I think it comes from my deep family history, including a farm that’s been in our family for 101 years.

I think that’s why I’m drawn to vintage typography and such. I just love those looks. And that’s how today’s set of four Vintage Christmas cards came into play.

But wait. Did you know you could do something even more amazing with the art of these 3×4 ‘cards’? I was completely floored when I saw this from Maggie!

And that’s really all there is to say. seriously. So let’s hear from Maggie on how she made these ingenious little guys.

There is just something so endearing to me about the look of vintage Christmas items…decor, cards, trees, gift wrap, you name it. So when I saw Kerri’s darling Vintage Christmas cards, I knew I needed to use them for my project.

I started by opening up the cards in my photo editor, and then I resized the files to fit onto some muslin bags I had in my stash.

Next, I adhered a scrap piece of linen to a sheet of regular old copy paper using repositionable adhesive spray, making sure the edges of the fabric were flat and secure. The linen I used is very thin, and the resulting paper/fabric combo was less bulky than most cardstock I print on. Then I simply ran the paper/fabric through my printer like I would with any other piece of paper.

I trimmed around my design using a ruler and a craft knife, and then I pinned my printed linen to my muslin bag. I stitched the linen to the bag using embroidery floss and then I roughed the whole thing up a bit, allowing the edges of the linen to fray.

I love the vintage-y look of these little bags, and I think they’ll be the perfect way to wrap up little gifts this holiday!
