What is it about plaid that seems synonymous with this time of year? Is it the cozy plaid blankets? Or the ever popular flannel shirt? Whatever it is about plaid, I love it. And so how fun is it to make a cuttable Plaid Card?

I think Sheree can help answer that question with this darling Christmas card she made!

 

 

 

So pretty! And how ingenious is it to stitch along the plaid pattern? gasp. It’s amazing, right? And you just know how much I adore anything white.

Let’s let Sheree tell us about it.

I cut the Plaid Card with my Silhouette from white cardstock, then used my sewing machine to stitch around the thicker lines and border of the plaid design to add some texture.

To decorate the card I used the Christmas Branch cut file to cut two different sized branches from green cardstock, layered them together and added some ribbon tied into a bow at the top of the stems.  I also used some white twine to tie some small jingle bells to the top.  I love that you can hear the little bells whenever you move the card! 

I stamped the ‘merry’ word from the Wonderland stamp set with red ink and embossed with clear embossing powder to give it a shiny finish.  I also stamped the phrase ‘spread the cheer’ from the same stamp set in black before cutting both out and adhering them to the bottom of the card front.  When adhering these pieces into place I made sure to only add foam tape and double sided tape onto the thicker plaid stripes so that it can’t be seen when you open up the card.  This card was so much fun to make and I love the see-through detail!
