A few days ago I asked you all on social media what your favorite plain white travelers notebook insert was and boy, did you guys deliver! So many of you said Felicity Jane. Where have I been???
It didn’t take me but maybe an hour’s worth of answers before I was placing my order to try out these magic books.
I got them and I am in love!
Not only did I want white pages as opposed to the off-white/cream books of the Midori #003 books I’ve always used, but I wanted something that would handle the ink well. So I did a little testing of my inks to see which ones worked the best.
I absolutely love how Ali Edwards’ Crafter Inks work! Correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe they fall into the Pigment ink family. I only have two–my favorite colors– and now I need them all. Studio Calico’s Color Theory Pigment ink also seems to work very well.
It is a little hard to photograph the backside and get the truest representation. While it appears that you can see them, they really don’t bleed through. It looks a little less inky and see-through in person. Maybe more of a shadow?
Simon Says and Gina K didn’t work as well (top left corner in this photo). I had stamped the KP turquoise and even though I cleaned it, there was some residual ink which is why you can see I stamped the Simon Says twice.
While Ali’s is my fave, I don’t think you can go wrong with Altenew or Hero Arts either. I love the colors that Altenew has! Kelly Purkey’s was okay too. The Hero Arts red you can see a little more on the backside, but c’mon…it’s a deep red. ;) Their Pumpkin Pie, which is a fave of mine, worked well.
The one big difference between FJ and Midori is the amount of pages in the book. In a Midori book I can put a half year into one. But the pages are thinner and so you can have more. With the FJ book, it looks like I’ll be able to do 15 weeks, so about a quarter of a year per book. But it’s all good. I can work with that. ;)
Felicity Jane has started producing her notebooks with square corners, so I’m super excited about that. I will be stocking up for sure!
I am a BIG FJ fan….I asked my husband for a gift card for Christmas and he delivered. I have a few of their TN notebooks and love them although I don’t do a lot of stamping in them like you do. Good to know though about the different inks.

Thanks so much! We are going full time in a camper van when we retire in June and have been looking for a simple way to scrap our journey. Your wonderful graphic stamps and FJ square corner white notebooks will work! I have Hero Arts inks but want to choose a color palette to keep things a little consistent. If you stamp some titles or images on paper and tape into a TN what paper do you use to stamp on to get good results? Thanks so much!
