Holy cannoli, it’s Friday and it’s May 1! May!!!

We have just today and tomorrow for our (inter)National Scrapbook Day party. And as a reminder, that means the sale ends tomorrow. ;)

But today, let us rejoice in a new month and a new idea for the Lay It All Out: Travelers Notebook templates from our dear friend, Miss Maggie!

This is such an awesome idea, especially for those who don’t have a cutter.

Oh my! Rather than cutting Template D to draw lines, she actually used the printable files to create an entire page. Genius! And I’m just tickled pink with her Denali XL title mixed with Nature Lover. sigh. And that splash of aqua using Block of Time is the perfect addition.

Here’s Maggie to tell us all about it:

During our state’s stay-at-home orders, we’ve been doing our best to get out any way we can. That means daily walks, drives around town, and spur-of-the-moment fishing excursions.

My husband took the older kids out a couple of weeks ago, and Kinsley was good enough to snap of few photos of their trip for me…she knows me well enough to know I’m always going to ask for them, anyway.

She sent me the photos and I edited them and resized them in Photoshop.

Then I opened up Kerri’s Lay It All Out Template TN-D and a new 8.5×11 document.

I added the template to the new document & then resized it to fit the space better. I knew I was going to use one of Heidi Swapp’s Storyline backgrounds to create this page, so I made sure to set my template off-center a bit to allow room for the background sheet design.

Next, I changed the line color on the original template from black to a very light grey, and I removed the template outline so that it wouldn’t print on my page.

I ran a plain sheet of copy paper through my printer first – just to make sure my spacing was correct – and then I did the same with my background paper.

I used my typewriter to add my journaling and then I adhered my photos and finished up with my stamping.

I LOVE the look of grids on my pages, and using the templates made creating this grid so easy!
