Last week there was a whole lotta love happenin’. Loving the craziness of the growth of iris. The cat loving sitting in the tree. Me loving being able to park my car in the garage since Dan got it cleaned out after a few years of storage–and loving him for cleaning it. Loving watching some Star Wars with Jordan on May 4th. Loving the food we make or get for take out. And most importantly, loving Mother’s Day down with my son and his wife, who made dinner…a first for me. Every year I make food to take to the in-laws for the day. This is the first time someone did it for me. And, Kass made Dutch pancakes for breakfast too! What a lovely day!

Now I can’t wait to get to go camping with our family of six!

 

 

 

For the base of the page I sized the Woven Card to 4.25″ wide, eliminated the solid section, then cut the woven part in half to use on each side. And you know I looooove white on white! It’s my favorite color combination. :)

I enjoy layering elements when I can–especially using big numbers as the base. I used the number 06 using Outnumbered ONE XL for our little family. I added love using Denali and some leaves using Nature Lover. I then accented it with a stamped tab using a phrase from Happiness Captured.

On a side note, I was really surprised that the Ali Edward’s Willamette ink laid on top of the Hero Arts Cup O’ Joe. I was afraid the green would get lost with the brown. So happy that it worked. :)

For the opposite page I used It’s A Date to create a date label and used some ephemera pieces from a Heidi Swapp kit at the top. I also created a pocket from the photo and tucked my journaling into it. I like seeing more of the journaling than what I would normally tuck into a pocket. I’m using the text as a design element rather than having white space there.

Here’s a couple tips.

One, draw a pencil line to use as the baseline for your stamped ensemble rather than putting your photo on and then trying to stamp above it.

Two, whenever you need to cut something, always cut multiples. I love having extra bits on hand to use on a whim.

I’m on a roll…three weeks in a row done!
Now to start going backwards. ;)

Oh, and if you missed the announcement on social media yesterday, a shipment of stamps will soon be on their way. Yay! I suggest turning on Notifications on social media for the next few days if you want to be sure of when you can get some of those super popular stamps, like Denali and Nature Lover (and others).

When I know they have been shipped, I will add stock to the store and shipping to customers will occur 7-10 days after. I’m hoping to know if they’ve shipped to me by Friday or maybe Monday. Fingers crossed.

It also looks like we’ll have a June release after all!
I’ve only been waiting for them since March. ;)
