Before we get into today’s nature show, I wanted mention a couple things. First, the sale ends tomorrow. Check out Saturday’s post for details.

Second, I wanted to clarify a couple things with the retiring of the Silhouette classes.  I’d mentioned that they were still available in a classroom setting for now. That being said, content will be accessible in some way if/when I change from the current classroom setup that I have.

I’d also mentioned that you could download the videos. However, unbeknownst to me at the time, even though I changed the video settings, Vimeo–which hosts the videos–still won’t let you download videos if it’s embedded like it is in the classroom. So, here I was thinking I was being all helpful-like and then bam. It was disappointing to find out. :) I will keep you posted on the changes that will be happening with accessing class content though.

Okay…now back to the show.

I must have been in a nature mood this week. Jordan had a wedding to do, which meant a house full of flowers and greenery. Gosh. It’s always grand when she does that! The smell…it’s heavenly.

I think my mind was wondering down Nature Lane because of that and this is was the result. A Wheat Background design for today’s One Day Monday Summer Freebie.

 

 

I know that wheat actually is more upright, but it was the closest thing I could think of that it looked like. Maybe it’s leafy? Regardless, it makes an awfully cool pattern, yes? :) It comes in all these sizes too: letter, square, travelers notebook, 3×4, 4×6, A2 in horizontal and vertical and A2 cards in the same orientations.

So in keeping with our nature theme today, this simply gorgeous spread from our first birthday guest, Ashley Rodgers, is what had to be shared today. :)

 

 

 

 

I recently discovered Ashley on Instagram and fell in love with her beautiful simplistic style! I had to have her to my birthday party. Imagine the gasp that escaped my mouth when I saw this!

That wreath! Oh my! Fussy cutting some leaves for dimension is brilliant. I adore the softness of color choice and the fact that she used her own handwriting, which I think is so important to do…at least from time to time.

And because I know I’ll be asked since Ashley rocked Nature Lover, it will be in stock in the next month. :)

Happy 10th Anniversary, Kerri! I’m so thrilled to take part in celebrating this special occasion. First, a little about me: I’m Ashley, and I live in Virginia. I’m obsessed with vellum, pretty florals, and making the world a better place through art and creativity. While I enjoy many different creative outlets, memory keeping is one of my favorites.

Perhaps now more than ever, I believe it’s important to pause and take note of the things that bring you joy each day, no matter how big or small. So, I created two spreads about finding beauty in the ordinary and celebrating the little things.

The first spread features a few snapshots from my everyday life, and a wreath design I created using the Nature Lover stamp set surrounds a peekaboo window to the next page. I stamped and cut out a few extra bits to add some dimension to the wreath as well. I have to say, all that stamping was such a calming process, so I repeated the same design on the second spread.

I love all the white space in the second spread. It just feels so calm and peaceful. The Thick XL alphabet stamps I used for the title on the right are a nice bold contrast to the delicate wreath on the left. I placed my photo in the center, and I wrote my journaling underneath it. Then, I used a couple sentiments from the Splendid Traveler’s Pack to embellish the page and sum up my thoughts. So perfect!
