This insane year has brought about so many different ways of doing things. The way eat out, shop, travel…get an education or graduate. If you had a senior this year, or even a college graduate, what did you do? I did hear of some clever graduations, so at least there was something memorable. A once-in-a-lifetime experience…hopefully.

Today we have the super talented and ever-so lovely Miss Heba showcasing her son and his graduation moment.

 

Creating a block of words is so my jam and Heba is the queen of the word scene! Adore what she has done here on her page! All the mixing and matching is just fantastic. So excited she could come to the party! She’s incredibly talented and I love seeing all that she creates on Instagram.

Here’s Heba to tell us all about it:

Hi everyone! This is Heba , and I’m so excited to be a part of Kerri Bradford Studio’s birthday celebration. I thought the best way to celebrate is to document a special celebration of my own, my son graduating high school. My son has a very bold and fun personality and I knew I wanted my layout to match his personality.

I started with a neutral background, since I knew I’d be using lots of bold stamping on this one. I also decided to go big with my photo and ended up using a 4×8 photo, to keep with the bold theme.

For the right side of my spread, I choose to use the Thin XL Alphas to stamp a few words that represent the moment. Words like “Shine, Honors and You” Sometimes you don’t need journaling to tell the story, just a few simple words help tell the story behind the photo. I also wanted to bring in a bit of red to the right side of my spread. So I used the Block Of Headlines stamp set to stamp blocked words and fun phrases with red ink and black. This definitely helped bring in the red from my photo in a subtle way.

When creating a collage like this one, make sure to stamp in different directions and spread out your ink colors. I found it to be easier if you start with your larger words or phrases and use the smaller stamps to fill in the gaps. It’s easier than you think.

There you have it, just by using a few alpha stamps and a few bold words, I was able to tell a special story and create a layout as bold as my sons personality.
