It’s amazing what a little Minc can do. It just makes a page–in this case–so merry+bright. Just loving Sheree’s use of the digital stamps here…and making them so pretty with the gold foil of the Minc. And on acetate? sigh.

Hi everyone!  Today I have a project to share with you that has foiled acetate elements that I made with the awesome new Home for Christmas, The Holidays and Block of Joy digital stamp sets.

I chose the circular “Spread the Cheer” stamp from the Home for Christmas set for one 3 x 4 inch acetate card.  For the second acetate card I used the star from The Holidays and layered the word “Joy” from the Block of Joy set in the centre. Once I had the designs set up in Photoshop,  I printed them onto a sheet of acetate with my laser printer, then ran it through my Minc machine with gold foil using the number 2 heat setting.  All I had to do then was cut them to size! 

These acetate cards would be so fun to use on their own in a pocket as a see through element but I decided to use them as photo overlays.

I had two 3 x 4 inch photos and a 6 x 4 inch photo for this project.  I created a flip up so that I could fit both 3 x 4 inch photos and journaling on the page.  The “Joy” star acetate card I layered over the first photo and stitched across the top to keep it in place.  You can still lift the acetate piece up to see the photo underneath.

The circular “Spread the Cheer” acetate card was perfect to layer onto the photo of our plate of Christmas bark inside the flip up.  Since this photo was inside the pocket I simply slipped the acetate piece inside and the pocket holds it in place.

To finish off the page I printed the word “delicious” from the Block of Joy stamp set onto white cardstock using my laser printer and foiled it using my Minc machine.  It was just what I needed for the large photo at the bottom.
