Birthdays are a joyous occasion. Well, maybe more so when you’re young. ;) They often seem like regular days as you get older. But as a kid? What an exciting time!

Today Miss Ashley is sharing a marvelous spread on her son’s birthday.

 

Wow. That ‘homemade’ number background paper is a fantastic idea! And she is the queen of the Paperclip Words. Adore.

Here’s Ashley to tell us more:

I have a confession to make.  I am not a huge fan of creating birthday layouts.  The birthday themed products just never seem to appeal to me.   But, when I saw the awesome Jordan Numbers XL stamp set, I knew they would be perfect for a birthday layout!

I wanted to use the large number stamps to create a background for my layout.  I stamped the numbers in two different ink colors on a white background.  Since our son was turning 11, I decided not to use the number 1 anywhere on the background.  I wanted it to be the stand out number.

Once I had the stamped background completed, I stamped the number 11 on another sheet of white paper with black ink.  Then, I used my three inch punch to punch out a circle to add in the center of the stamped background.  I also decided to stitch around the outside edge of the circle with black thread, to make it stand out from the background paper.
