This holiday season is going to be like no other. I was just hearing on the news that the canceled all the ballet and theater and other Christmas events that happen at this time of year. Our usual big Thanksgiving will just be our little Thanksgiving. It’s going to be such a different season.

I told the girls–who are adults living at home right now–that we should plan something out for every day during December because even though we don’t do tons of things at Christmas, we won’t be doing any usual things this year. No Christmas Eve Day block buster movie. No Christmas lights at Thanksgiving Point (which would have been last night). Just to name a couple

I want to bypass the no’s and do some unique things. If you guys have any ideas, please, post a comment and let me know what you’ll be doing to make this a holiday season like no other. Just because we can’t do a lot of our usual traditions, doesn’t mean we can’t make new traditions this year.

This is the time to step out of our Christmas box. ;)

Our documenting of the holidays, will be a little different as well. We won’t have all those usual photos. But hopefully we’ll stay true with some traditions and have fun with the new to-do’s.

How is it possible that we are heading into the holiday season? I can hardly believe that it’s already time to bring out the Christmas decor and start baking, wrapping & shopping! It’s also time to start preparing for my annual documenting of December.

 

 

This year will be undeniably different…no large gatherings with friends, no trips into Chicago to see the decorations and lights, and no office parties to attend (this one I’m actually not so sad about ;)).

 

 

So I’ve decided that my monthly project will be different, too. Instead of the pages & pages full of fun photos of holiday traditions, this year my pages will be about the more simple things the season will bring. I used the Everyday Explorers 29 Prompts set and some of my favorite KBS stamps to outline how I will remember December 2020.

 

 

Each page contains the date, a prompt and a little icon or phrase (or two!). I’m trying to keep everything exceedingly simple this year…who needs extra pressure, right?…and I’m looking forward to getting my pages filled in as the days go by!
