Today’s the day for you to make your page merry and bright with the String Of Lights freebie. In addition to just a regular ol’ string of lights, there are configurations for 6×8 and travelers notebooks too. Ohhhh yeah.

And we have the ever-so lovely Miss Tazhi here to show us how to make a page sparkle and shine  with the design and with actual fairy lights too! Everyone say it with me, oh my gosh!

 

 

Hello friends, Tazhi here with a super FUN page using the String Of Lights digital piece. I love that Kerri offered a full package of these which included the lights and strand together and apart, super easy for running it through my electronic die cutting machine.

I cut the strand of lights on 80lb cardstock and then all of the individual light bulbs on vellum because you know what a strand of faux Christmas lights needs? Actual fairy lights! I made a frame using some green cardstock and attached an acetate sheet to close off the frame and then glued down my cut file. Here’s a pro tip – when attaching a delicate file that’s in smaller pieces like this, use the negative space to help you place your pieces back in the appropriate places. I then used my tweezers and some glue to stick down the bulbs on the strands.

Finally, to add the light effect, I stapled a strand of fairy lights to a white piece of cardstock and created a pocket of sorts to hold the battery pack of my lights. It did take about three layers of foam to create a level surface for my frame and light cutfile but it was worth it to have this fun effect to add into my December Daily album this year. I plan to embellish it with a piece of wood veneer and a number when I decide what story to tell with it and when it’s going into my album! Cheers to the season, friends.
