I need my outside time. The need is real. And the craving for going somewhere is always compounded when you’re stuck inside or when you have other priorities that don’t allow you to do anything.

On Sunday I did have have the hubs take me up the canyon, which is only maybe less than ten minutes away just to take a walk.

 

 

We may have only walked for a half hour, but it was glorious! I even got to put my snow boots on. ;) Anything to get out and breathe in some fresh air and see some nature. I truly crave it.

So you can only imagine the intensity of the craving when I saw this fabulous spread by Miss Sheree. Isn’t that Max title just amazing? Look close at all these wonderful details going on here. Wow!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The new Max alphabet stamp set is so fun and I love this pretty font!  I knew right away that it would be perfect to create a feature title across the two-page spread I had planned about the recent hike my hubby and son went on.

These pages will be going into my 6 x 8 inch album so I used the outer dimensions of a page protector to determine the size of my pages.  I chose a patterned paper from my stash for the top half of the pages and one of the photos from the day to go right across the bottom of the two pages then cut the top edge of the photo to be curved.  I added machine stitching around the border of the patterned paper.

I stamped my title onto scrap white cardstock with green ink, then fussy cut the letters out to position across the curved edge across the page.  I also stamped some trees from the Wild stamp set to go at the beginning of the title.  I stamped up some phrases from the Wild stamp set using green and black ink for the bottom left of the photo. I also stitched across the title and phrase pieces using my sewing machine for extra texture.

I printed some journaling and made a small tag for the to right of the second page and used one of the tab stamps from the Fill In the Blank stamp set to add a touch more green.  Stitching and twine was added and the tag was adhered into place.

For the bottom right of this page I used one of my favourite stamps from the Fill In The Blank and added green using one of the solid stamps.  I also stamped the date using the number stamps before adding some hand-written journaling and a paper clip to the top right corner.  Another stamped tree was also layered onto the left side to finish it off.

I had more photos and journaling that I wanted to include for this story so I decided to create a pull-out page.  I turned the second page of the spread into one big pocket by adding a piece of white cardstock to the back with foam tape, making sure the 6 holes were punched down the side of the pages to allow me to add them to the album later.

For the pull-out page I used one large photo of my son walking underneath a waterfall for one side, adding more stamped phrases from the Wild stamp set in the bottom right corner.  For the other side of the page I used some green patterned paper, three smaller photos that I printed out into a strip and I made another journaling tag using another tab stamp from the Fill In The Blank stamp set.  I added a plastic tab to the side of the page to indicate to the reader that there is something to pull out of the pocket.  I stamped two more phrases from the Wild stamp set to go inside the plastic tab.

I am so happy with how this spread turned out!  I love how versatile the new Max and Fill In The Blank stamps are and I know I’ll be reaching for them to use time and time again!
