As I looked at the title of Ashley’s fabulous page today, the words better together just kept resonating with me. Not only is it a favorite Jack Johnson song of mine and not only is it the name of a new stamp set for February (haha), but in these odd times you can just feel that we are better together.

For me personally, with losing both in-laws within four weeks of each other, they were meant to be together, they are better together. As crazy as I may be going right now with all that’s been going on these past several weeks…and months, and even though I may be sick of having the same three conversations we have in this house with the four of us, I can only think that we are better together.

Times may be tough, but you hold on to those who are dear because when all is said and done, you are better together.

And that ends my reflection for the day. ;) Let’s take a look at Ashley’s wonderful ‘Better Together’. There is some eye candy goin’ on right there. Look at every little detail. It’s marvelous!

 

When it comes to stamps, one of my favorite types is alpha stamps!  You can never have too many variations of alphas, I always say!  This month, I used the new Max alpha for the title on my 6×8 layout.  I love to mix alpha stamps with other mediums on my projects to add interest to the design.  On this layout, I decided to stamp the word “better” with black ink using the Max stamp.  I liked the bold contrast of it, with the softer colors on the layout.  Then, I added in an acrylic word to complete the title.  I really like the look of the black and white title on the layout.

I also incorporated a little bit of the Fill in the Blank stamp set into my layout.  I just wanted to use a couple of the phrases as accents.  I stamped one of the blocks with the Pink Lemonade ink pad from Scrapbook.com to match the look of the large heart at the top of the page.  Then, I stamped “hanging out” in black over the block and trimmed it out.  I placed it under my title and adhered it with my tiny attacher for extra texture.  I also used the word “getaway” and stamped it a few times on the fussy cut heart, to finish up my layout.
