First things first…wow what a day yesterday! We sold out of all the Willow alphas. Goodness gracious. Thank you so much for the love! It’s a fun alphabet to be sure. I do have more on reorder already, so be sure to follow Instagram and FB to know when they are back in real-time. You may want to turn on Notifications for Instagram if you want to make sure you see it exactly when the restock is announced. I’m hoping to have it by mid-April, but we’ll see what happens–could be a little sooner, but could also be later. It’s a crazy stamp world we live in. ;)

And here’s a little nugget…I named the Willow alphabet Willow because it reminded me of being in the ‘great outdoors’ on our family farm, sitting  under the big weeping willow along the ditch bank on a summer’s day and listen to the water pass by. Yes, it was as dream as it sounds. :) If you’re part of the LDS church and know the primary song ‘Oh What Do You Do In The Summertime’…ya…that was a favorite childhood song. So I always appreciate a good moment of the great outdoors, whether it be simply to go to a park in your neighborhood or an excursion to a lake. Which brings us to today’s fine display of all that is good with this month’s release by our dear friend Miss Ashley. Loving this mix of the different alpha sizes and Botanically Inclined! beautiful.

 

This month’s Willow release was perfect for creating a mixed title on my Traveler’s Notebook layout!  I used the Upper versions in the three different sizes, and mixed them with the Botanically Inclined stamp set for the left hand side of my layout. 

I wanted to create interest with the leaves from the Botanically Inclined stamp, so I used two different colored green inks, Peeled Paint and Mowed Lawn, Distress Oxide Inks from Tim Holtz. 

When I make a layout in my Traveler’s Notebook, I usually like to carry over whatever I have on the left hand side of the page to the right hand side, so I stamped the name of our Campground with the Willow Upper SM stamp and created two embellishments using phrases from the Botanically Inclined stamp.  For the first one, I stamped “see the beauty in everything” over some of the Peeled Paint that I inked on to white paper.  Then I just trimmed it out and used the tiny attacher to adhere it to the page.  Then, I stamped “good things” on the other page, and used a ruler and fine liner to draw a box around the phrase.
