We all have a desire to create in some fashion. It’s in our nature. It could be scrapbooking, cooking, weaving, gardening…there’s always some form of creation that is a part of us all. And I think that’s what Tazhi’s spread is all about today…from her expression of weaving to her documenting it. There’s all sorts of creativity that are part of this awesome spread today. And that giant quote is just marvelous!

 

 

Sometimes you need a giant essay on the page and sometimes all you need is a blank canvas with room to stamp your heart out. I went that route with this project because the Headline Outline series was perfect for a large title like the one that inspired this layout! I snapped this photo after leaving our local yarn shop 

To start, I knew I wanted to break up the white background so I pulled out my largest gel plate and added a few rows of Distress Oxide inks that I thought would go well with my photo. I then added a mask and then pulled two prints, one right after the other to create my canvases. The more saturated one, I saved for a photo mat and chose to stamp on the one with more white space. It could have gone either way with such an open stamp like this one but that was the route I chose. I then stamped a quote by Gayle Wray directly onto my cardstock using my favorite pigment black ink. The stamping went super quickly, especially with an audio book playing n the background. 

For my photo, I pulled out the I Love New York stamp set to embellish the empty space and stamped using archival ink since I was stamping on a slick surface. I wrestled a bit with adding embellishment but I loved how clean and graphic the stamping looked on the painted cardstock and decided to leave it as it.
