Extra! Extra! Read all about it!

Oh my goodness gracious…this page from Andrea Grey speaks volumes in all the right ways! The ‘extra’, mixed-size Headline background makes such a big impact. I am in love!

 

 

 

 

Scrapbooking sure has evolved since I started back in 1998! We didn’t have the cool clear stamps that we are so blessed to have today but I am really glad I was able to experience the changes of this craft over the years. Every layout I created from the very beginning has typography as a focal point. It was either the title or the font choice for the journaling, but either way I always found these to be super important to the design. And even when the fonts changed from curly serifs to bold sans serifs, typography remains a focus of our memory keeping today!

In this notebook spread, I really wanted to play with mixing up the HEADLINE UPPER and LOWER stamps in both the SM and XL sizes. Mixing them and making them fit together like a puzzle was so fun and something I had never done before! I sketched it out on a post-it note to see what words would fit, then made very light lines to make sure I didn’t get too crooked, and just went for it! I stamped words that represented me and the things I love along with a big bold photo. Any of the extra spaces were filled in with coordinating embellishments!

This project can easily be done with a single stamp or multiple fonts and sizes! I hope you give it a try with any of the alpha sets from the KBS shop and see how fun it is!
