Mornings at the beach? Yes please! There’s nothing more dreamy than starting your day at the beach. I spent almost a month in Kauai and would walk over to the beach to watch the sunrise almost every morning. I couldn’t stand the thought of missing one.

So Sheree, I get ya….I totally get ya. :) And this spread is fantastic! The blended title is perfection. Maybe I need to head to your beach…for a month? ;)

 

 

 

 

For this project I wanted to play around with creating a multi-coloured title using the Headline Lower SM and Headline Lower SM Outline stamps. 

I chose the ledger paper as the background for my journaling page as I liked that it brought in a bit of blue to tie in with my full sized photo page.  I was also inspired by the red and yellow flag in the photo and decided to use those colours for my main title word.

For the title I decided to use a Top Notch Tag which I cut out with my Silhouette machine.  I selected the letters to spell the word “beach” from the Headline Lower SM stamps and lined them up on my acrylic block.  I then took my yellow stamp pad and tapped it onto the bottom half of the word.  I then grabbed my red ink pad and tapped it onto the top half of the word.  I was careful not to overlap the colours too much and by using the darker colour last there was minimal yellow ink transfer onto my red ink pad.

Once the coloured word was stamped onto the tag I then outlined the letters in black in with the coordinating Headline Lower SM Outline stamps which really helped the letters stand out!  To complete the title I used  the two smaller sized alphas from the Willow Lower stamp set.

I stitched around the tag, added twine and adhered it above the journaling.  I also added a little stamped sun from the Away stamp set using the same yellow ink as the title.

Under the journaling I added two stamped phrases from the Southern California stamp set.  I love how versatile this set is!  Even though I live in Australia there are still so many stamps in this set I can use!

For the date I used the awesome Year Round stamps and finished off with some red and yellow patterned paper strips at the bottom of the page.

It was so much fun to mix and match the different fonts together on this spread!
