There’s always so much activity going on Under A Summer Sky, particularly this time of year for the Fourth of July in America and Canada Day in Canada. We even had a beautiful morning Under A Summer Sky watching the hot air balloons fill up, but unfortunately couldn’t take off.

I wanted a freebie that would coordinate with our holiday, but that could also be used world-wide. All I could think about were things we do Under A Summer Sky, including fireworks. And that’s why today’s freebie is what it is.

There’s all sorts of things we do outdoors and perhaps your summer sky involves an ocean or lake, like our friend Miss Ashley. Isn’t this page amazing? That title on a big photo is perfection!

Sometimes a design and photo are MFEO (made for each other-little Sleepless in Seattle reference).  :)  And that’s exactly what happened with the Under a Summer Sky freebie and one of my recent photos.  I snapped a “lucky” shot of a crane flying off the pier on one of our recent walks and knew that when I documented it, I wanted to layer text and design right over the photo.

When I saw the Under a Summer Sky freebie, inspiration struck!  I sized the design over my photo in Adobe Illustrator to make sure it would be the perfect size.  Then I cut it from white cardstock on my Cameo.  I wanted to add a little something else to the title, so I chose a multi-colored patterned paper from Heidi Swapp’s Care Free collection and cut it with an offset to layer it behind the white title.  After that, I positioned it on my photo and added some journaling, along with a few embellishments.
